BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men’s tennis team will be hosting the Lehigh Fall Tennis invitational on the Goodman Campus beginning Friday and continuing through Sunday. The event will take place on the Ulrich Varsity Courts and inside the Lewis Tennis Center. Lehigh will be joined by Saint Francis (Pa.), Bucknell, Delaware and Loyola (Md.) in the five-team event.
 
Lehigh will kick off the event with a singles matches against Loyola starting at 3 p.m. on Friday. The Mountain Hawks will play doubles matches against the Greyhounds at 4:30 p.m. Competition will continue on Saturday and Sunday starting at 9 a.m. with Lehigh facing the remaining three teams in singles and doubles action. There will be no team scoring but all matchups will consist of three or four doubles matches and six to eight singles matches.
 
The Mountain Hawks opened their fall season with a solid showing at the Penn Invitational. Four Lehigh players won their opening round matches and Sophomore Ben Gilman advanced to consolation finals on Sunday where he eventually fell 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 to Jonas Dierckx of Iowa. The Mountain Hawks are led by senior captain Andrew Krentz and Matt Savran. At the Penn Invitational Krentz won his opening match in straight sets before falling to Joey White of Iowa in a super-tiebreak in the second round.
 
Following the Lehigh Fall Tennis Invitational, The team will travel to compete in the ITA Regionals in New Haven, Conn. on Oct. 18.
