BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Evans Kosgei and Kyle Forrest were named to the Division I All-Academic U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Team. It is Kosgei’s second straight year named to the team while Forrest earned an Academic All-Patriot League nod last year. The duo was among 431 student-athletes from 148 institutions named to the team.
Kosgei – a Computer Science (EN) major – placed 14th in the NCAA First Round at the end of May and broke his own school record in the process.
Forrest – an Accounting major – was an All-Patriot League performer last year and finished 10th in the heptathlon at the IC4A Championship in March. Forrest then came back during the outdoor season and earned All-East honors with his fourth place finish in the decathlon.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
