Kinek breaks rebounding records in 49-37 win at Bucknell
Freshman Kerry Kinek grabbed a school and Patriot League record 22 rebounds, and added a team-high 11 points, to lead the Lehigh women’s basketball team to a big 49-37 win at Bucknell on Wednesday evening at Sojka Pavilion. Fifteen of Kinek’s rebounds came in the first half as the Mountain Hawks held the Bison to just eight points in the first stanza.

Swimmers seek strong finish as Lehigh heads to PL Championships
All the work put in by the Lehigh swimming and diving teams this season will come to a head this weekend as the Mountain Hawks head to a Lewisburg, Pa. for the Patriot League Championships Thursday through Saturday at Bucknell’s Kinney Natatorium. The Lehigh men enter the championships following a 3-4 dual season while the women remain optimistic despite a 1-5 dual record.

The Lehigh baseball team will take the field in 2013 with the hopes of building on its young talent to make a run at a second Patriot League crown. The Mountain Hawks will begin their journey for the 2013 Patriot League title featuring a young roster of 19 sophomores and freshmen along with the 12 seniors and juniors.

Lehigh drops hard-fought 61-55 final to Bucknell
Despite struggling from the free throw line and behind the three-point arc, the Lehigh men’s basketball team hung tough and nearly won its fourth straight over Bucknell, but the Bison had just enough to edge the Mountain Hawks (18-7, 8-3 Patriot League), 61-55 on Monday evening. Junior Mackey McKnight and senior Holden Greiner led the way with 17 points apiece.

Mountain Hawks coast to 62-40 victory over Colgate
For the second straight game, the Lehigh women’s basketball team took the lead less than a minute into the contest and never looked back as the Mountain Hawks rolled to a 62-40 victory over the Colgate Raiders on Saturday night. On Play 4 Kay night, the Mountain Hawks raised $2,829 towards female cancer research and awareness, courtesy of Lehigh Gas.

Hamlin nabs 100th win as Lehigh pounds Clarion 39-9
Senior Robert Hamlin picked up his 100th career victory as the Lehigh wrestling team completed a 2-0 weekend in western Pennsylvania with a 39-9 win over Clarion at Tippin Gym. Hamlin’s pin was one of three falls for the Mountain Hawk, as freshman Randy Cruz and sophomore Anthony Salupo also posted pins to pace the Mountain Hawks, who improve to 9-7 on the season.

Mountain Hawks knock off Villanova in season opener
After starting in a 3-0 hole, the Lehigh women’s lacrosse team rallied for a 10-9 victory over Villanova on Saturday afternoon behind a five-goal performance from sophomore Carli Sukonik. The Wildcats had a late chance at the Lehigh net in an attempt to send the game into an extra session, but junior goalkeeper Alex Fitzpatrick stood tall and made the save to preserve the win.

Spirited comeback attempt falls short at Colgate, 64-60
The Lehigh men’s basketball team erased a 21-point second-half deficit with an 18-0 run, but Colgate had just enough to sneak past the Mountain Hawks, 64-60 on Saturday afternoon. The loss snapped Lehigh’s four-game winning streak and five-game road winning streak. Junior Anthony D’Orazio tied a career high with 17 points, 15 coming in the second half.

Mountain Hawks post 22-14 win at No. 14 Pittsburgh
The Lehigh wrestling team picked up its second win of the season over a ranked opponent as the Mountain Hawks downed No. 14 Pittsburgh 22-14 Friday night at Fitzgerald Field House. Senior Robert Hamlin’s 99th career victory, a 4-2 decision over Max Thomusseit at 184 clinched the dual for the Mountain Hawks, who improve to 8-7 on the season.
