Lehigh falls short in overtime against Colgate, 10-9
A goal by Colgate midfielder Amanda O’Sullivan in the second overtime period was the difference as the Lehigh women’s lacrosse team dropped a 10-9 final Saturday at a snowy Ulrich Sports Complex. With the tough loss, the Mountain Hawk fall to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in Patriot League play while the Raiders improve to 4-4 and 2-0 in the league.

#17/19 Lehigh beats #12/13 Penn State in Independence Classic
Senior Dante Fantoni and sophomore Dan Taylor paced the offense with five points apiece while sophomore Matt Poillon made 11 saves in goal as the #17/19 Lehigh men’s lacrosse team topped #12/13 Penn State, 12-10 in the Whitman’s Sampler Independence Classic Saturday at PPL Park. Lehigh took a 5-1 halftime lead, but the Nittany Lions scored eight of the next 10 goals.

Mountain Hawks claim three titles, finish fourth at EIWAs
Despite the absence of its two senior leaders, the Lehigh wrestling team enjoyed a strong finish Saturday as the EIWA Championships wrapped-up at the RAC. Freshman Randy Cruz, junior Joey Napoli and sophomore Nathaniel Brown all won individual EIWA titles as the Mountain Hawks finished in fourth place with 101.5 points.

Mountain Hawks fall short in Patriot League Semis at Lafayette
Down 16 in the second half, the Lehigh men’s basketball team put forth a valiant effort to pull within five, but couldn’t get any closer as Lafayette downed the Mountain Hawks 82-69 in the Patriot League Semifinals on Saturday. Senior Holden Greiner scored 16 points to surpass 1,000 for his career, becoming the 31st player in school history and third in his class to reach the milestone.

Three Lehigh wrestlers will compete for EIWA titles on Saturday as day one of the 109th EIWA Championships wrapped up Friday night at the RAC. Freshman Randy Cruz, junior Joey Napoli and sophomore Nathaniel Brown won semifinal bouts, with Cruz and Napoli winning by fall as the Mountain Hawks sit in fourth place with 82.5 points after one day of competition.

The fifth-seeded Lehigh women’s basketball team fought back from a 15-point first-half deficit, but couldn’t pull any closer than three as #4 Holy Cross defeated the Mountain Hawks 64-59 in the Patriot League Quarterfinals on Thursday evening. Lehigh had several chances in the second half to pull within a single possession, but the Crusaders continued to have an answer.

Mountain Hawks advance to semis behind 71-64 win over Colgate
Behind a sensational effort from senior Gabe Knutson, the Lehigh men’s basketball team bounced back from a nine-point second half deficit to beat Colgate 71-64 in the Patriot League Quarterfinals on Wednesday evening. Knutson finished with 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting, 15 coming in the second half. With the win, third-seeded Lehigh advances to its fourth straight league semifinal.

#17/19 Mountain Hawks drop defensive battle to #18 Penn, 6-4
#17/19 Lehigh and #18 Penn went back and forth in a defensive display, but it was the Quakers who came out victorious as they downed the Mountain Hawks 6-4 on Tuesday evening at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Senior defenseman Mike Noone was stellar, posting a career-high six caused turnovers to go with five groundballs as Lehigh caused 13 of Penn’s 19 turnovers on the evening.
