Kosgei, Pierce earn bids to NCAA First Round
Two student-athletes from the Lehigh track and field team will participate in the 2012 NCAA East Regional which will be held in Jacksonville, Fla. on the campus of the University of North Florida on May 24-26. Senior Katherine Pierce will be racing in the 10,000-meter run on Thursday at 9:40 p.m. while senior Evans Kosgei will compete in the 3000-meter steeplechase Friday at 8:50 p.m.

Mountain Hawks' season ends with 9-2 loss to Oregon State
The Lehigh softball team saw its 2012 season come to an end Saturday with a 9-2 loss to Oregon State at the OU Softball Complex. Senior Jen Colquhoun went 2-for-3 in her final game in the Brown and White, but the Beavers’ Elizabeth Santana went 2-for-2 with five RBI as Oregon State raced to an early 6-0 lead before holding off a fourth-inning Mountain Hawk rally.

No. 4 Oklahoma proves too strong for Lehigh in regional opener
The Oklahoma Sooners proved why they are one of the nation’s top teams as the fourth-seeded Sooners used a 13-run second inning to defeat Lehigh 19-3 in five innings Friday night in both teams’ opening game in the Norman Regional. Junior Liz Lucas belted a three-run home run to account for Lehigh’s runs as the Mountain Hawks fall to 40-18 on the season.

Lehigh makes final preparations for Friday showdown vs. No. 4 OU
The Lehigh softball team made its final preparations for its upcoming NCAA Regional appearance with a workout on a hot, sunny Thursday afternoon at the OU Softball Complex. The Mountain Hawks (40-17) will be challenged right off the bat by the national No. 4 seed Oklahoma Friday at 7:30 p.m. (CST). ​

Lehigh heads to Oklahoma for seventh NCAA appearance in nine years
For the seventh time in nine seasons, Lehigh has earned the Patriot League’s automatic berth into the NCAA Regional Tournament. The Mountain Hawks head to Norman, Oklahoma to open regional play against the No. 4 national seed Oklahoma Sooners, marking the sixth time in eight NCAA appearances that the Mountain Hawks will open with a Big XII opponent. Lehigh posted three shutout wins to claim the league tournament title last weekend, claiming its second straight championship and 12th overall.

Lehigh drops 10-9 heartbreaker to Maryland in NCAA Tourney
The Lehigh men’s lacrosse team erased a five-goal deficit with seven straight goals bridging the second and third quarters, but Maryland wouldn’t go away as Joe Cummings scored with six seconds remaining to hand the Mountain Hawks a crushing 10-9 defeat, in an NCAA First Round game Sunday night.

After capturing its second straight Patriot League title and seventh in the last nine years, the Lehigh softball team learned its NCAA Regional fate on Sunday. Bliss blanks Army 2-0 to lead Lehigh to second straight PL title
Junior Becca Bliss fired a two-hit shutout and junior Kristen Mitchell and freshman Cassie Waggy drove in runs as the Lehigh softball team won its second straight Patriot League Tournament title with a 2-0 win over Army Saturday at Kaufman Field. Bliss ties a Patriot League record with her tenth shutout of the season as Lehigh captures its 12th tournament title and seventh in the last nine years.

Senior Julie Fernandez went 3-for-4 with two RBI and junior Becca Bliss fired a four-hit shutout as Lehigh advanced to the championship round of the Patriot League Tournament with a 4-0 win over Army Friday in a winner’s bracket game at Kaufman Field. The Mountain Hawks will face the Black Knights on Saturday needing just one win to claim their second straight tournament title.
