Mark Ironside

Mark Ironside is in his sixth year as Executive Director of University Business Services at Lehigh. Prior to serving at Lehigh, Ironside spent six years as Director of College Services and four years as Assistant to the Vice President for Finance and Administration at Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania. Prior to that, he was a sales representative at Duracell, USA.

Ironside has earned numerous continuing education certifications and attends various leadership and management conferences. He is a graduate of the National Association of College Auxiliary Services Institute for Managers and Leadership Lehigh Valley, which trains leaders for service on boards in the Lehigh Valley. Currently, Ironside serves on the board of the National Association of Purchasing Managers-Lehigh Valley, where he is the first vice president. He also sits on the board of the Bethlehem Teachers Federal Credit Union.

As Executive Director of University Business Services, Ironside provides leadership and direction for Athletics Business Services, and University Business Services which includes Purchasing Services, the Lehigh University Bookstore, Campus Square, Licensing and Trademarks, Printing and Mailing Services, and Transportation and Parking Services. His focus areas include business planning, expanding the visibility of business services on campus and in the community, and continually working to improve organizational clarity and develop the cohesiveness of two leadership teams. He enjoys working with teams, reading leadership and management books, facilitating retreats, and thinking about new and inventive ways to manage business enterprises.

Ironside has served on various University committees and advisory groups including the University Diversity Leadership Committee where he co-managed the Campus Climate Survey. With an impressive 41% return rate, the comprehensive study provided information on areas of greatest concern and impact to frame the future direction of Lehigh's diversity initiatives. He currently serves on Lehigh’s Environmental Advisory Group, which is actively implementing President Gast’s Climate Commitment.

Ironside earned his master degree in business administration from Penn State University and his undergraduate degree in marketing from Messiah College.

Ironside and his wife Tiffany reside in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and have two children: Will (8) and Zach (4).
