BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Katherine Pierce was named to the Division I All-Academic U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Team while Lehigh was among 171 institutions whose program earned All-Academic status posting a GPA of 3.00 or better. Pierce was among a record breaking 676 student-athletes on the team.

Pierce earned Academic All-Patriot League nods last year while she placed 36th in the NCAA First Round in May and qualified for the event by breaking her own school record.

Pierce was in Lehigh’s IDEAS (Integrated Degree in Engineering, Arts and Science) program and focused on architecture and design arts with some civil engineering mixed in. She also has a minor in Jewish Studies. She is also a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and multiple-time member of the Dean’s List.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
