BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Freshman Savanna Plombon has been named the Patriot League Female Rookie of the Week, as announced by the League Monday. The Frederick, Md. native placed first in the one mile run with a time of 5:03.49 and was also a member of the winning 4X800-meter relay team that finished with a time of 9:46.28. Plombon’s pair of first-place finishes helped pace Lehigh to victory at the Mountain Hawk Invite Saturday.

In the mile run, Plombon finished less than five seconds short of an IC4A/ECAC qualifying time as Plombon was the first of three Lehigh runners to take the top three spots in the race.

In the 4X800, Plombon ran fourth on the team as they cruised to victory, 15 seconds ahead of the second-place team.

At the Fast Times Before Finals meet on December 9th, Plombon was also part of the winning 4X800-meter relay team.

Lehigh won its second straight meet on Saturday as the Mountain Hawks won the Mountain Hawk Invite with 225.5 points, well ahead of the 12 other teams: Wagner (83), East Stroudsburg (78.5), Lafayette (78), Bloomsburg (62), Kutztown (54), Moravian (42), Muhlenberg (31), Monmouth (14), Delaware (12), Montclair State (10) and Stockton (5).

The Mountain Hawks also won the six-team meet at Navy on January 14th.

Lehigh will look to extend its winning streak when it hosts rival Lafayette in a dual meet Saturday, January 28th at 3 p.m. at Rauch Fieldhouse.
