BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh women’s track and field team will compete in two meets over the weekend. Part of the team will participate in the Winthrop Invitational in Winthrop, SC on Friday and Saturday. And then on Sunday, the other part of the team will compete in the Lafayette 7 Way Invitational. The meets will be Lehigh’s second and third events of the outdoor season.
Lehigh is coming off a solid showing at the Big 5 Invite in Philadelphia where E’lana Lemon and Jimil Ataman both qualified for the ECACs for their performances in the pole vault. Lemon placed first while Ataman finished second.

The Mountain Hawks head into the Winthrop Invitational looking to build off of last season’s success at the meet where the highlight was a third-place finish in the women's 400-meter hurdles by Jessica Perone while her teammate Victoria Oliva finished fifth.

Other schools participating in this year’s invite include Ohio, Radford, Davidson, Furman, Gardner-Webb, and Wofford among others.

Lehigh will compete against several area schools in the Lafayette 7 Way including rival Lafayette, Muhlenberg, and East Stroudsburg. The remaining participants are St. Joseph’s University, Monmouth, and Rider. The teams will compete in various field and running events. Action at the Lafayette 7 Way will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

The Mountain Hawks will return to action next week when they’ll travel across the country to participate in the Stanford Invite in Stanford, Calif. while others will take on Lafayette in a dual meet in Easton, Pa.
