Mountain Hawks picked fourth in preseason poll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women’s track and field team was picked to finish fourth in the Patriot League preseason poll, as announced by the League Monday. The Mountain Hawks garnered 68 points, just one point behind Army. Lehigh finished fourth at last year’s Patriot League Indoor Championships but the Mountain Hawks will be aiming for a better finish this season.
Navy scored 95 points with 11 first-place votes finishing ahead of Bucknell, which had 88 points and five first-place votes. Army was third, just one point ahead of Lehigh. Lafayette was fifth with 39 points while Colgate (38), Holy Cross (36) and American (15) rounded out the top eight, respectively.
At last year’s Championship, Navy finished first ahead of Bucknell 157-117.
The indoor season opened this past weekend as Lehigh had a great first showing with ten first-place finishes including junior E’Lana Lemon’s ECAC-qualifying weight throw of 17.57m.
The Patriot League Indoor Championships are February 17-19 at Bucknell.
