BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the ninth time in her career, senior E’Lana Lemon has been named the Patriot League’s Female Field Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Dec. 2. Lemon dominated the women’s weight throw on Friday with a distance of 17.17 meters, 3.17 meters ahead of the rest of the field.
After being awarded the honor four times in each of the previous two seasons, Lemon again claimed the Patriot League’s weekly award after the first meet of the 2012-13 season. Her throw was easily above the ECAC-qualifying mark as the senior began her season with an excellent performance.
Also garnering Patriot League honors was junior Martin Otieno, who was an honorable mention by the Patriot League after barely missing the ECAC-qualifying standards at the Season Opener, finishing first in the 60-meter run with a time of 6.99 and second in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line in 22.61.
The Mountain Hawks will be back in action on Friday when Lehigh hosts the Fast Times at Lehigh event inside Rauch Fieldhouse on the Goodman Campus beginning at 5 p.m.
