Lehigh hosts two-day Mountain Hawk Invite

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's track and field team will host the Mountain Hawk Invite at Rauch Fieldhouse on Friday and Saturday. The meet will begin Friday at 5 p.m. and pick up again on Saturday at 9 a.m. The Invite will be an unscored meet that will feature 12 other schools and a total of 850 athletes.
The Lehigh women’s team is coming off a first-place finish at the six-team Army Meet at West Point on January 14th. The Mountain Hawks won three events – the 1,000 meter run, the 4X800 meter relay and weight throw.
In the 1,000 meter run, sophomore Jessica Kendzor won with a time of 2:57.06 while junior Julia Perry came in second, junior Brittany Pietrosh finished third and freshman Ingrid Simon placed fourth. Then the team of senior Alexandra Neville, juniors Lauren and Brittany Pietrosh, and Perry garnered the squad’s second first-place finish, winning the 4X800 meter relay with a time of a 9:24.85, nearly 12 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Monmouth.
Then junior E’Lana Lemon continued her stellar season in the weight throw as she won with a distance of 16.63m. For her efforts, Lemon was named the Patriot League Field Female Athlete of the Week. It was her third-straight honor and seventh of her career as Lemon is 3-0 in the weight throw this season.
The other schools that will compete at the Invite this weekend will be Millersville, Monmouth, Rider, Muhlenberg, East Stroudsburg, Wagner, Rider, Lafayette, Kutztown, Bloomsburg, Elizabethtown College and Moravian.
After this weekend, Lehigh will host Lafayette in a dual meet Saturday, January 28th at 3 p.m.
