Ataman breaks school record in one of three Lehigh meets
While competing at the Winthrop Invite, Lafayette 7 Way, and Raleigh Relays this weekend, the Lehigh women’s track and field team enjoyed strong performances from its throwers and sprinters. The Mountain Hawks finished fifth at Lafayette with 47 points, while no team scores were kept at the other two meets.

Lehigh to compete at Winthrop and Lafayette invites
The Lehigh men’s and women’s track and field teams will split themselves between Friday’s Winthrop Invite in Rock Hill, S.C. and the Lafayette 7-Way on Saturday. The meets will be the second and third contests of the Mountain Hawks’ outdoor season. Lehigh’s men’s squad was picked to finish fourth in the Patriot League Outdoor Preseason Poll released Monday, while the women’s team was picked to end up in third place.

Mountain Hawks led by top throwing finishes in outdoor opener
The Lehigh women’s track and field team opened its outdoor season at the Philadelphia College Classic on Saturday with the throwers registering top finishes. Many of Lehigh’s competitors at the event were not able to use the indoor season to practice for their events.

Mountain Hawks to begin spring season Saturday at Philadelphia College Classic
The Lehigh women’s track and field team will begin its outdoor season by competing in the Philadelphia College Classic on Saturday at Penn. In addition to host Penn and some other local colleges, the Mountain Hawks will compete against Temple, Saint Joseph’s, Villanova and La Salle.

Mountain Hawks conclude indoor season at ECAC/IC4A Championships
Four school records were broken and three individuals garnered All-East recognition as the Lehigh track and field teams concluded their indoor seasons at the ECAC/IC4A Championships, which wrapped up Sunday at Boston University. Senior E’Lana Lemon, junior Jessica Kendzor and sophomore Derek Gaul all earned All-East honors, while the women’s 4x800 meter relay finished fifth overall.

Seniors lead Lehigh women at ECAC Championships
The seniors on Lehigh’s women’s track and field team finished the indoor season on a high note with strong performances at the ECAC Championships this weekend in Boston University’s Track Center. Eleven athletes represented the Mountain Hawks, who finished 32nd out of the 53 schools at the competition.

Mountain Hawks gear up for ECAC/IC4A Championships
Nineteen men and 11 women on the Lehigh track and field teams will travel to Boston this weekend for the IC4A and ECAC Championships, hoping to end their indoor seasons on a high note. The select athletes qualified based on predetermined standards and will be competing against the best of the best from Division I schools in the northeast. Both the men’s IC4A Championships and the women’s ECAC Championships will take place simultaneously at Boston University.

Ciavardelli, Pietrosh named to Academic All-League teams
Two student-athletes from the Lehigh track and field programs were named to the Academic All-Patriot League teams for indoor track and field, announced Tuesday. Senior Lauren Pietrosh was named to the women’s Academic All-League team for the second straight year, while junior Paul Ciavardelli represents the Lehigh men on the team.

Astor, Utesch claim major awards as Lehigh finishes third at PLCs
The Lehigh women’s track and field team completed a strong showing at the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships, which wrapped-up Sunday at Army’s Gillis Field House. The Mountain Hawks challenged for the top spot throughout the weekend and finished in third place with 106.33 points. Junior Brooke Astor was named Women’s Field Athlete of the Meet, while head coach Matt Utesch was named Women’s Coach of the Year.

Lehigh completes day two of Patriot League Championships in second place
The Lehigh women’s track and field team completed its second day of competition at the Patriot League Championships in second place, trailing leader Bucknell by less than two points heading into the final day. The Mountain Hawks earned three victories though the first two days to separate themselves from the pack and keep within striking distance of Bucknell.

Men in third, women in second as Lehigh enters final day of PLC’s
The Lehigh men’s and women’s track and field teams will both enter the final day of the Patriot League Championships within striking distance of the leaders as the men’s team finished day two with 33 points, resting in third. The women’s team earned three victories and accumulated 48.33 points to end the afternoon less than two points behind leader Bucknell (50).

Mountain Hawks head to West Point in search of Patriot League crown
Looking to build off of a third place finish at last year’s event, the Lehigh women’s track and field team will travel to Gillis Field House for the second time this season, taking the track on Friday in search of a Patriot League Championship. A veteran squad hopes to couple experience with an impressive regular season in order to bring home the championship for the first time in program history.

Weather halts Lehigh’s trip to Armory
Due to the impending winter storm, the Lehigh men’s and women’s track and field teams will not travel to this Friday’s Lafayette-Rider Winter Games at the New York Armory. The Mountain Hawks will idle until Friday, February 15 when they travel to West Point, N.Y. for the Patriot League Championships.

Lehigh heads to Armory for final tune-up before Patriot League Championships
After posting two victories at the John Covert Classic and an multiple ECAC-qualifying marks at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational a week ago, the Lehigh women’s track and field team will compete for the final time before the Patriot League Championships at the Lafayette Rider Winter Games. The Mountain Hawks will take to the track on Friday, February 8 at the New York Armory in New York City.

Lemon breaks Patriot League record with 13th weekly award
Senior E’Lana Lemon broke Marjorie Grap’s Patriot League record for weekly awards after earning her 13th career Patriot League Female Field Athlete of the Week award. She continued to set personal records with an ECAC-qualifying toss of 18.16m in the weight throw at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational on February 1.

Mountain Hawks post successful split squad weekend
The Lehigh women’s track and field team turned in several ECAC-qualifying marks as the squad split for the weekend to travel to the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York City, while also hosting the 21st Annual John Covert Classic inside Rauch Fieldhouse. The Classic was highlighted by two wins by Lehigh and multiple top 10 performances in a field consisting of nine competitors.

Mountain Hawks split squad for pair of weekend meets
The Lehigh women’s track team will look to carry momentum gained after a 97-84 victory over archrival Lafayette last Saturday into this weekend’s New Balance Collegiate Invitational and John Covert Classic. The Mountain Hawks will split the team into two groups for the meets, as the NB Collegiate Invitational will take place in New York City, while the John Covert Classic will begin at 10 a.m. inside Rauch Fieldhouse.

Lemon ties league record with 12th Patriot League weekly award
For the 12th time in her illustrious career, senior E’Lana Lemon has been named the Patriot League’s Female Athlete of the Week, earning the award for the third consecutive week and fourth time this season. Lemon now ties Bucknell’s Marjorie Grapp (2004-2007) for the most weekly awards in league history.

Lehigh defeats Lafayette in annual dual meet 97-84
The Lehigh women’s track and field team posted 11 victories on the day which propelled it to the 97-84 victory over Lafayette in the annual dual meet. For their efforts, junior Brooke Astor and senior Julia Perry were named athletes of the meet as the Mountain Hawks retained the Bryan Mundy Trophy with the victory over the Leopards.
