BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women’s tennis team will get its final work in for the fall season this weekend as the Mountain Hawks welcome four teams to the Goodman Campus for the three-day Lehigh Tennis Invitational, beginning Friday afternoon.

The Mountain Hawks opened their fall season at the Eastern Tennis Championships at Army last month, where players picked up a handful of wins while gaining solid experience.

This weekend Lehigh will try to gain more experience, while experimenting with doubles team combinations in preparation of the spring season. Eight Mountain Hawks will take to the court this weekend, led by sophomores Taylor Hampshire and Jenai Bilimoria and senior Liz Piscitelli.

Joining Lehigh in the field will be Delaware, Loyola (Md.), St. Francis (Pa.) and rival Lafayette.

Lehigh’s women will open up the weekend of action playing singles and doubles matches against Loyola beginning Friday at 3:30 p.m. Saturday’s action kicks off at 9 a.m., with the Mountain Hawks taking on Lafayette in singles and then doubles at 1 p.m. Sunday is the final day of action, with Lehigh facing the Red Flash of St. Francis in singles and doubles play beginning at 9 a.m. Lehigh hopes to use both of its facilities, the Lewis Tennis Center, and weather permitting, the Ulrich Varsity Courts.
