Lehigh dominates St. Francis (N.Y.) in 7-0 shutout win

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women’s tennis team snapped its six match losing streak with a nearly flawless performance in a 7-0 win over St. Francis (N.Y.) Saturday on the Ulrich Varsity Courts. The Mountain Hawks dropped just one game on the day, sweeping through three doubles matches and six singles matches to improve to 2-9 on the season.

n doubles action the team of sophomore Jenai Bilimoria and senior Liz Piscitelli won 8-1 over Ewa Opala and Camille Petrizzo at No. 1 doubles, but that would be the only game won by the Terriers on the day. Freshman Abby Farrell teamed with sophomore Kathleen Larkin to post an 8-0 shutout at No. 2 doubles while sophomore Jill Sloand teamed with freshman Emily Bruch for an 8-0 win at the No. 3 flight.
Lehigh’s dominance continued into singles play as the Mountain Hawks won all six matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Bilimoria, Farrell, Piscitelli and Larkin won at the top four flights, while freshmen Gabby Drucker and Molly Brooks won at the bottom two flights.
The Mountain Hawks will be back on the courts on Sunday when they travel to Philadelphia to face Saint Joseph’s at 1 p.m.
