BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks women’s tennis team will continue their eight match home stand when they host Rutgers on Thursday and Delaware on Saturday inside the Lewis Tennis Center. Lehigh is riding positive momentum on the heels of Sunday’s 5-2 win over Saint Francis (Pa.), the first of the season for the Brown and White.

Against the Red Flash on Sunday, the Mountain Hawks secured the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 flights, and then captured four of six singles matches to improve to 1-2 on the season. Three Mountain Hawks: junior Jenai Bilimoria and sophomores Abby Farrell and Molly Brooks picked up victories in both doubles and singles action.

Farrell is off to a strong start for the Mountain Hawks with wins in two of her first three singles matches.

Rutgers dropped its season opener against Delaware 4-3 last Sunday, and will visit Lehigh Thursday before traveling on to Penn on Saturday. Delaware is 2-0 on the season following wins against Morgan State and Rutgers. Their match against Lehigh will be the Blue Hens’ last before a two week hiatus.

The Mountain Hawks will be looking to avenge losses to both Rutgers and Delaware at home in their 2012 campaign.

Thursday’s Lehigh-Rutgers match is slated for a 3 p.m. start, while the Lehigh-Delaware match will begin at noon on Saturday. Both matches will be played at Lehigh’s Lewis Tennis Center.
