Two members of the Lehigh women’s tennis team were named to the Academic All-Patriot League team announced Wednesday. Junior Jill Sloand and sophomore Abby Farrell both boast cumulative grade point averages above 3.90 and both student-athletes have made regular appearances on the Dean’s List and Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
Junior Jenai Bilimoria and sophomore Abby Farrell led the Lehigh women’s tennis team on the court in 2013 and on Wednesday they were named to the All-Patriot League teams. Bilimoria earned her second career All-League honor as she appears on the first team for the first time, while Farrell was named to the second team. The All-Patriot League teams are voted on by the league’s head coaches.
The Lehigh women’s tennis team saw its season come to an end with a 4-1 loss to Colgate Friday in a Patriot League quarterfinal matchup at Army’s Malek Tennis Courts. Junior Jenai Bilimoria picked up a singles win for the fifth-seeded Mountain Hawks but the No. 4 seed Raiders won the doubles point and three singles matches to advance to Saturday’s semifinals against top seed Army.
The Lehigh women’s tennis team heads to West Point, N.Y for the Patriot League Championship, hosted by Army beginning Friday. The fifth-seeded Mountain Hawks will play No. 4 seed Colgate in the first of three quarterfinal matches set for Friday at Army’s Malek Tennis Courts.
Seeds and matchups for this weekend’s Patriot League Women’s Tennis Tournament at West Point, N.Y. were announced Tuesday afternoon. Lehigh earned the No. 5 seed and will face No. 4 seed Colgate in the first of three quarterfinal matches beginning Friday at 9 a.m.
