Lehigh drops 6-1 decision at Navy in league opener
In its Patriot League opener, the Lehigh women’s tennis team fell to a tough Navy squad by a 6-1 score Sunday on the USNA Tennis Courts. Senior Liz Piscitelli led the way for the Mountain Hawks, teaming with freshman Gabby Drucker to win at No. 2 doubles, while also accounting for Lehigh’s only point with a win at No. 3 singles.

Mountain Hawks to open Patriot League slate Sunday at Navy
Lehigh (3-10) will play it first Patriot League match of the season when it travels to Navy on Sunday to face the Midshipmen. The Mountain Hawks have been on a bit of a hot streak lately as they’ve won two of their last three matches after a 1-9 start.

Lehigh heads into league play after 4-3 win over Loyola (Md.)
Lehigh and Loyola (Md.) split six singles matches on Sunday, but the Mountain Hawks swept the doubles matches for the eventual decisive point in a 4-3 win over the Greyhounds at the Ulrich Varsity Courts. Freshman Abby Farrell posted a three-set win at No. 2 singles to help Lehigh clinch its second win in its last three outings.

Mountain Hawks drops 6-1 match at Saint Joseph's
One day after picking up its second win of the season, Lehigh fell by a 6-1 score to Saint Joseph’s Sunday at the SJU Tennis Complex. The Mountain Hawks won the doubles point, taking two of the three matches, but the Hawks rallied to capture all six singles matches. The loss drops Lehigh to 2-10 on the season.

Lehigh dominates St. Francis (N.Y.) in 7-0 shutout win
The Lehigh women’s tennis team snapped its six match losing streak with a nearly flawless performance in a 7-0 win over St. Francis (N.Y.) Saturday on the Ulrich Varsity Courts. The Mountain Hawks dropped just one game on the day, sweeping through three doubles matches and six singles matches to improve to 2-9 on the season.

Lehigh falls 7-0 at Penn Thursday
The Lehigh women’s tennis team fell 7-0 at Ivy League foe Penn at the Hamlin Tennis Center on Thursday. Freshman Abby Farrell battled at No. 2, almost forcing a third set, but fell 7-5 in the second set. Lehigh will look to rebound with a pair of matches this weekend as the Mountain Hawks will host St. Francis Saturday at 10 a.m. before travelling to face Saint Joseph’s Sunday.

Freshmen propel Lehigh past Mount St. Mary's for first win
After a heartbreaking loss last Sunday, the fourth time proved to be a charm for Lehigh as the Mountain Hawks picked up their first win of 2012 Saturday, 5-2 over Mount St. Mary’s at the Lewis Tennis Center. Lehigh’s three freshmen were the story as all three posted singles victories for the Mountain Hawks, who won two doubles matches and four singles matches and are now 1-3 on the season.

Mountain Hawks battle, but drop season opener to Rutgers
In its 2012 spring season opener, the Lehigh women’s tennis team fell 7-0 to a very tough Rutgers squad Thursday afternoon inside the Lewis Tennis Center. The Scarlet Knights, out of the Big East conference, swept all three doubles matches and all six singles matches in the season opener for both teams.
