Patterson recognized as Patriot League Female Swimmer of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh freshman Courtney Patterson has been named the Patriot League Female Swimmer of the Week following her strong performance this weekend at Princeton’s Big Al Open. Patterson was Lehigh’s top finisher in four different events and picked up the lone event win for the Mountain Hawk women in two days of competition.
 
The Cherry Hill, N.J. native’s top performance was a win in the 200 yard freestyle Saturday morning with a time of 1:51.92. Later in the day, she took second place in the 1650 free in 17:34.78 and also finished ninth in the 200 fly.
 
On Friday, Patterson finished third overall in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:06.46.
 
Patterson also led Lehigh’s effort in the 800 free relay as the Mountain Hawks finished sixth, competing against swimmers from Fordham, Georgetown, TCNJ and Princeton.
 
Patterson and the Mountain Hawks will return to the pool Friday when Lehigh travels to Easton to take on Lafayette at 6 p.m. in Ruef Natatorium.
