Nine Lehigh teams garner APR Public Recognition Awards
Nine Lehigh athletic teams were honored with Academic Progress Rate Public Recognition Awards, as announced by the NCAA on Wednesday. Awards are given each year to teams scoring in the top 10 percent in their respective sport with their Academic Progress Rate (APR). The teams that were recognized include: men’s basketball, softball, women’s cross country, women’s golf, women’s lacrosse, women’s rowing, women’s swimming and diving, women’s tennis and volleyball.

Student-athletes enjoy unique experiece in Croatia over spring break
Over spring break, a group of six student-athletes were accompanied by two members of the Lehigh faculty, on the trip of a lifetime to Croatia. The purpose of the trip was to provide a collaboratively-developed and intentionally-designed study abroad experience for student-athletes over spring break. It targeted a population of students who might not otherwise have this co-curricular learning and leadership development opportunity.

Mountain Hawks reflect on season at annual banquet
The Lehigh swimming and diving program hosted its annual year-end banquet on Sunday, March 24, at the Wood Dining Room in Iacocca Hall on Lehigh’s Mountaintop Campus. The luncheon is held to celebrate the year’s successes and to recognize outstanding student-athletes with annual program and team awards. The afternoon also featured remarks from head coach Rob Herb and several student-athletes.

Five swimmers named to All-Patriot League teams
Five members of the Lehigh swimming and diving teams were named to the All-Patriot League teams announced Wednesday. Freshmen Carolyn Koch (first team) and Courtney Patterson (second) represent the Lehigh women, while on the men’s side junior Chris Hoke was named to the first team, and senior Demetri Karedis and sophomore Danny Bennett earned second team honors.

Mountain Hawks repeat 4th, 5th place finishes at PL Championships
Freshman Carolyn Koch finished second in the 100 yard freestyle and set her third school record in as many days to lead the Lehigh swimming and diving teams on the final day of competition at the Patriot League Championships. Koch’s strong finish Saturday led the Mountain Hawk women to a fifth place finish for the second straight year, while the men finished in fourth place for the eighth consecutive year.

Koch sets third record, Mountain Hawks finish PLC in fifth place
For the second consecutive year the Lehigh women’s swimming and diving team finished fifth at the Patriot League Championships, which wrapped-up Saturday at Bucknell’s Kinney Natatorium. Freshman Carolyn Koch continued to lead the way for the Mountain Hawks, setting her third school record of the championships en route to a runner-up finish in the 100 yard freestyle.

Koch sets another school mark to lead Lehigh on day two of PLC
Freshman Carolyn Koch finished third in the 200 yard freestyle, setting her second school record in as many days to lead Lehigh on day two of the Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championships at Bucknell’s Kinney Natatorium. The Mountain Hawk women sit in fifth place with 219 points entering the final day of competition.

Lehigh men win 200 free relay title as PL Championships begin
Five school records were set and Lehigh’s 200 yard free relay team won a Patriot League title as the Mountain Hawks opened up competition at the Patriot League Championships, Thursday at Bucknell’s Kinney Natatorium. Lehigh’s men finished the first day of competition in fourth place while the women are in fifth after day one.

Freshmen pace Lehigh women on day one in Lewisburg
The Lehigh women’s swimming and diving team set three school records on day one of the Patriot League Championships Thursday at Bucknell’s Kinney Natatorium. Freshmen Courtney Patterson and Carolyn Koch accounted for the two individual records, while the Mountain Hawks’ 400 medley relay team closed the opening day with a school record performance.

A leader for Lehigh in and out of the pool
For senior swimming sensation Emily DiDonato, there was little question as to whether or not her college experience would include daily trips to the pool. Both of her older siblings swam in college and DiDonato had no second thoughts about following in their footsteps. In fact, she was first introduced to Lehigh when her siblings participated in a summer swimming program on campus.

Swimmers seek strong finish as Lehigh heads to Patriot League Championships
All the work put in by the Lehigh swimming and diving teams this season will come to a head this weekend as the Mountain Hawks head to a Lewisburg, Pa. for the Patriot League Championships Thursday through Saturday at Bucknell’s Kinney Natatorium. The Lehigh men enter the championships following a 3-4 dual season while the women remain optimistic despite a 1-5 dual record.

Drexel edges Lehigh women by two points in season's final dual
In its final dual meet of the regular season, the Lehigh swimming and diving team came up on the short end of close 148-146 score against visiting Drexel Saturday at Jacobs Pool. The Mountain Hawks won four of the first six events, but only won two of the remaining ten, as the Dragons benefitted from 32 unanswered points in diving, and out-touched the Brown and White in a number of close finishes.

Patterson's school record highlights Lehigh effort at Bucknell
Lehigh freshman Courtney Patterson set a school record in the 1000 yard freestyle and won two individual events to lead the Lehigh women’s swimming and diving team in its meet at Bucknell Saturday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks swam fast against the perennial league power but came up on the short end of a 184-102 score at Kinney Natatorium.

The Lehigh swimming and diving teams will travel to Lewisburg, Pa. to hit the water against Patriot League foe Bucknell Saturday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks will be seeking wins against a Patriot League opponent after falling to the Army Black Knights in both the men’s and women’s competition in a home meet on January 11.

Strong effort falls just short as Lehigh falls to Army
In its first meet in nearly two months the Lehigh women’s swimming and diving team fell to Army 156-138 Friday evening at Jacobs Pool. Sophomore Alissa Leung and freshmen Courtney Patterson and Carolyn Koch won multiple events to pace the Mountain Hawks, who swam well despite giving up points in the diving events.

Mountain Hawks return to action Friday vs. Army at Jacobs Pool
The Lehigh swimming and diving teams will return to competition for the first time in more than a month when the Mountain Hawks welcome Patriot League rival Army to Jacobs Pool for a Friday evening meet. The Mountain Hawks have been conducting their winter training in the friendly confines of Jacobs Pool and will kick off the second semester of competition Friday versus the Black Knights.
