Princeton proves too much in win over Mountain Hawks
The Princeton women’s soccer team showed why it’s one of the best in the Ivy League as the Tigers came out firing, scoring four first-half goals in downing Lehigh 6-1 on Wednesday evening. Jen Hoy, the Ivy League’s leading scorer, paced Princeton with her third hat trick of the season. Freshman Paige Elliott scored her second goal of the season for Lehigh. The Mountain Hawks will look to bounce back Sunday when they travel to Army for a big Patriot League tilt.

Lehigh plays final nonleague game at Princeton Wednesday
The Lehigh women’s soccer team will play its final nonleague game of the season Wednesday when the Mountain Hawks take on Princeton at 7 p.m. Lehigh will travel to Princeton for its fifth consecutive road match; the squad rounds out the week at Army before returning home for its final three games of the regular season.

Mountain Hawks drop heartbreaking 1-0 overtime final at Navy
For its third straight Patriot League game, the Lehigh women’s soccer team put forth a strong road effort, but was unable to capitalize as Navy scored in the 99th minute to hand the Mountain Hawks a 1-0 loss on Sunday. Junior goalie Ali Griffin made five saves in her third straight start as the Lehigh defense held Navy’s offense at bay, which had scored eight goals its previous two games and 45 goals on the season.

Lehigh drops slim 1-0 final at American
Lehigh outshot American 7-3 in the second-half, but the Eagles scored the game’s only goal in the 50th minute to hand the Mountain Hawks a 1-0 loss on Friday afternoon. Lehigh earned a number of chances, but couldn’t beat goalie Charlene Belanger who finished with four saves. The Mountain Hawks will look to bounce back at Navy Sunday as they eye their first Patriot League victory.

Mountain Hawks continue road trip at American and Navy
Following Monday’s 2-1 overtime thriller at Columbia, the Lehigh women’s soccer team looks to use that momentum heading into a big weekend of Patriot League action. The Mountain Hawks will head to American on Friday (3 p.m.) to face the Eagles then have a quick turnaround as they travel to Navy on Sunday (1 p.m.).

Mountain Hawks pull out dramatic 2-1 double OT win at Columbia
Down 1-0, the Lehigh women’s soccer team pulled out one of its most dramatic wins in recent memory, tying the score in the 90th minute before winning it in the second overtime as the Mountain Hawks walked away with a 2-1 win over Columbia on Monday night. Sophomore Darby Wiegand scored the equalizer while junior Paige Dyrek converted the game-winner to give Lehigh its first win at Columbia since 1993, and with it, momentum heading into a big Patriot League weekend.

Lehigh looks to regroup at Columbia Monday
Just two days after a tough 1-0 loss at Lafayette, the Lehigh women’s soccer team will look to gain momentum when it travels to Columbia Monday to face the Lions. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. The Mountain Hawks fell behind in the 14th minute Saturday and had a number of chances to tie the score, but couldn’t net the equalizer. Lehigh will look to beat Columbia for the second straight year after topping the Lions last season for the first time since 1993.

Lehigh drops Patriot League opener at Lafayette, 1-0
Lafayette scored in the 14th minute, which proved to be the difference, as the Lehigh women’s soccer team dropped its Patriot League opener to the Leopards on Saturday night by a 1-0 final. The Mountain Hawks did have chances, especially in the second half, when they controlled possession, but couldn’t put one past Lafayette goalie Lauren Smedley.

Mountain Hawks open league play at Lafayette Saturday
The Lehigh women’s soccer team will look to shake off a pair of overtime losses last weekend when it makes the short trek to Easton Saturday to square off against Lafayette. The match is slated for 7 p.m. and will mark the beginning of Patriot League play for each team.

Mountain Hawks drop tough 3-2 final to La Salle in OT
The Lehigh women’s soccer team got off to a quick start, scoring two goals in the first 10:24, but a strong La Salle squad bounced back to defeat the Mountain Hawks, 3-2 in overtime, on Sunday afternoon. Greeley scored twice in a 1:58 span while the combination of sophomore Ashley Blanks and freshman Ani Nahapetian made eight saves between the pipes.

Mountain Hawks drop 2-1 overtime decision to Saint Joseph's
Despite a strong all-around effort, the Lehigh women’s soccer team dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to visiting Saint Joseph’s Friday night at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Sophomore Darby Wiegand pulled the Mountain Hawks even late in the first half, but Nicole King delivered the game-winner for the Hawks in the 95th minute.

Lehigh welcomes Saint Joseph’s and La Salle this weekend
Following a Sunday road game at Stony Brook, the Lehigh women’s soccer team returns home to host Saint Joseph’s on Friday (7 p.m.) and La Salle Sunday (1 p.m.). The Mountain Hawks look to build off a solid weekend when they defeated regionally-ranked Marist before hanging tough against another regionally-ranked squad in Stony Brook.

Mountain Hawks drop 3-1 final at Stony Brook
The Lehigh women’s soccer team jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead just 2:25 into the game, but Stony Brook responded with the final three goals to down the Mountain Hawks, 3-1, on Sunday evening. Freshman Paige Elliot scored her first-career goal while freshman Ani Nahapetian finished with nine saves between the pipes. Lehigh will return home next weekend when it faces a pair of Atlantic 10 foes: Saint Joseph’s on Friday and La Salle on Sunday.

Lehigh posts impressive 3-0 shutout of Marist
The Lehigh women’s soccer team exploded for three goals, while the defense pitched a shutout, for an impressive 3-0 win over Marist on Friday evening. The Mountain Hawks (1-4-0) got goals from junior Rosie Vitta, sophomore Darby Dustman and junior Paige Dyrek while freshman goalie Ani Nahapetian made six saves in the second half to clinch the victory. Lehigh will look to continue the momentum on Sunday when it travels to Stony Brook for a 4:30 p.m. kickoff.

Lehigh hosts Marist Friday to kick off busy weekend
After three straight games away from home, the Lehigh women’s soccer team returns to the Ulrich Sports Complex on Friday when it welcomes Marist for a 7 p.m. showdown. The Mountain Hawks will then head to Stony Brook on Sunday for a 4:30 p.m. matchup with the Seawolves. Lehigh dropped a hard-fought 2-1 overtime final at Monmouth last Friday, picking up its first goal of the season, and some momentum heading into this weekend.

The Lehigh women’s soccer team scored its first goal of the year, but Monmouth responded with the equalizer and the game-winner in overtime, to give the Hawks a 2-1 win on Friday evening. Junior Murphee Greeley scored less than three minutes into the second half while sophomore goalie Ashley Blanks made three saves in the defeat. The Mountain Hawks will look to bounce back next Friday when they host Marist at 7 p.m.

The Lehigh women’s team will look to bounce back from a pair of losses last weekend when it travels to Monmouth Friday for a 7 p.m. game against the Hawks. Lehigh drops tough 4-0 decision at Binghamton
The Lehigh women’s soccer team owned a 9-8 edge in shots and 4-2 in corner kicks, but were unable to find the back of the net as Binghamton exploded for four goals in a 4-0 win on Sunday. The Mountain Hawks were led by sophomore Darby Wiegand and freshman Madi Morgan, who each posted two shots, and one on goal. The Bearcats held a 1-0 lead until the 58th minute, when they exploded for three goals in a 27:24 span to end any doubt.

Providence scored early and the Mountain Hawks couldn’t rebound as the Lehigh women’s soccer team dropped a 4-0 final on Friday afternoon. Providence scored twice in each half to drop Lehigh to 0-2-0 on the season. The Mountain Hawks look to rebound on Sunday when they travel to Binghamton to face the Bearcats.

The Lehigh women’s soccer team will play the first two road games of its 2012 season this weekend, looking to bounce back from a 2-0 season-opening loss to Seton Hall. The Mountain Hawks travel to Providence to face off against the Providence Friars on Friday and then go to Binghamton, N.Y. on Sunday to battle the Binghamton Bearcats at 1 p.m.
