The Lehigh women’s soccer team has been honored with an NSCAA Academic Award following a strong year in the classroom, as recently announced. The Mountain Hawks earned the award for the 10th consecutive season for their effort in the 2011-12 academic year.

Lehigh tied for second in initial Presidents' Cup standings
The Patriot League announced its initial Presidents’ Cup standings on Tuesday with Lehigh tied for second overall at the completion of the fall season. Lehigh checks in with 32 points and tops the men’s overall standings with 16 points. The Mountain Hawk women are tied for fifth place with 16 points.

Big second half leads Navy past Lehigh in Patriot League Semis, 4-1
The Lehigh women’s soccer team pulled even late in the first half, but Navy’s Paloma Perez came alive with a natural hat trick in the second to down the Mountain Hawks, 4-1, in the Patriot League Semifinals on Friday evening. Junior Murphee Greeley netted the game-tying goal, but #4 Lehigh couldn’t contain top seed and host Navy, who extended its unbeaten streak to 20 games and will face Colgate in Sunday’s Patriot League Championship Game.

Lehigh heads to Navy for Patriot League Semifinals on Friday
The Lehigh women’s soccer team begins its “second season” on Friday when it travels to Navy to face the top-seeded Midshipmen in the Patriot League Semifinals. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. following the first semifinal of the day (#3 American vs. #2 Colgate) at 3 p.m. The Mountain Hawks are riding three straight wins to advance to their second Patriot League Tournament in the last three years.

Dustman garners Academic All-Patriot League laurels
Lehigh sophomore midfielder Darby Dustman has earned Academic All-Patriot League honors, as announced by the league on Thursday. Dustman owns a strong 3.81 GPA as an Industrial Engineering major while on the field, she stands tied for third on the Mountain Hawks in goals (3) and tied for fourth in points (6).

Lehigh women’s soccer freshman Paige Elliott earned First Team All-Patriot League honors while junior Murphee Greeley garnered Second Team laurels, as announced by the league on Thursday. Both winners of Patriot League weekly awards on Monday, Elliott has been stellar at both ends of the field, posting two goals and two assists along with stellar defense, while Greeley leads the team with five goals and 12 points on the season.

Greeley and Elliott earn Patriot League weekly awards
Junior Murphee Greeley and freshman Paige Elliott from the Lehigh women’s soccer team have earned Patriot League weekly awards, as announced on Monday. Greeley earned Offensive Player of the Week while Elliott garnered Defensive laurels. It marks the second straight week the Mountain Hawks garnered two weekly awards after sophomore Darby Dustman and freshman Ani Nahapetian captured Offensive and Goalie of the Week one week ago.

Patriot League Tournament information released
Complete information for the 2012 Patriot League Women’s Soccer Tournament was released on Sunday as the fourth-seeded Mountain Hawks will face #1 and host Navy on Friday at 7 p.m. That follows a 3 p.m. showdown featuring #2 Colgate against #3 American. There will be live video and statistics available for both semifinal games and Saturday’s championship game (which is set for 2 p.m.).

Mountain Hawks soar into postseason with 4-0 win over Holy Cross
The Lehigh women’s soccer team scored early and often, while allowing only eight shots, in a dominant 4-0 Senior Day win over Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Mountain Hawks have advanced to the Patriot League Tournament for the second time in the last three seasons where they look for their second league championship in that span. Junior Murphee Greeley led the way with a pair of goals to tie a career high.

Elliott earns national honor from College Soccer 360
Paige Elliott of Lehigh women’s soccer has been named a College Soccer 360.com Primetime Performer of the Week following her stellar play in wins over Bucknell and Colgate last weekend. The freshman defender led the Mountain Hawks to consecutive victories that pushed the squad into the Patriot League Tournament picture with one game remaining in the regular season.

Dustman and Nahapetian earn Patriot League weekly awards
Sophomore Darby Dustman and freshman Ani Nahapetian were both honored by the Patriot League on Monday following a pair of big victories this weekend. Dustman was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Week after providing a spark for the Mountain Hawks in both wins, recording two of Lehigh’s three goals. Nahapetian, the league’s Goalkeeper of the Week, allowed just one goal over the two games and none over the final 195:01.

Mountain Hawks hand Colgate first Patriot League loss, 1-0
Riding the momentum of its overtime thriller over Bucknell, the Lehigh women’s soccer team pulled out its second victory of the weekend on Sunday, handing Colgate its first Patriot League loss, 1-0. Sophomore Darby Dustman scored the game’s only goal in the second half while freshman Ani Nahapetian spearheaded a Lehigh defense which became only the second team to shut-out the Raiders this season (along with Washington).

Lehigh pulls out wild 2-1 overtime win over Bucknell
The Lehigh women’s soccer team fell behind just 30 seconds in, but bounced back with a vengeance, tying the score just 11 minutes later before senior Isabelle Li netted the golden goal in the second overtime for a dramatic 2-1 win over Bucknell Friday night. The Mountain Hawks finished with a 32-13 shot advantage, including 13-1 in the 15:31 of overtime.

Lehigh and Army played neck-and-neck through most of regulation, but a late Black Knights’ goal proved to be the difference as the Mountain Hawks dropped a tough 2-1 final on Sunday afternoon. All four of Lehigh’s Patriot League losses have been by one. Sophomore Darby Wiegand scored a first-half goal while freshman Ani Nahapetian made eight saves, including seven in the second half.

Mountain Hawks drop heartbreaking 1-0 overtime final at Navy
For its third straight Patriot League game, the Lehigh women’s soccer team put forth a strong road effort, but was unable to capitalize as Navy scored in the 99th minute to hand the Mountain Hawks a 1-0 loss on Sunday. Junior goalie Ali Griffin made five saves in her third straight start as the Lehigh defense held Navy’s offense at bay, which had scored eight goals its previous two games and 45 goals on the season.

The Lehigh women’s soccer team owned a 9-8 edge in shots and 4-2 in corner kicks, but were unable to find the back of the net as Binghamton exploded for four goals in a 4-0 win on Sunday. The Mountain Hawks were led by sophomore Darby Wiegand and freshman Madi Morgan, who each posted two shots, and one on goal. The Bearcats held a 1-0 lead until the 58th minute, when they exploded for three goals in a 27:24 span to end any doubt.

Seton Hall scored two goals in a 2:36 span midway through the second half to break a scoreless tie as the Pirates (3-0-0) spoiled Lehigh’s season opener, 2-0 on Friday. With the fall season set to get underway on Friday, Lehigh Athletics has announced its fall broadcast schedule. For the third straight year Lehigh has partnered with Stretch Internet to deliver fans live action via the Lehigh GameCentral portal. Most men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey, and volleyball home contests will be broadcast live on the Lehigh web site as part of the GameCentral pay-per-view offering.

Season Preview: Mountain Hawks look to rebound in 2012
Despite finishing short of its goals, the 2011 Lehigh women’s soccer season didn’t lack excitement. One year after winning their first Patriot League Championship, the Mountain Hawks fell just short of the Patriot League Tournament. However, Lehigh was in it until the end, tying eventual league champ Army while defeating finalist Navy. Lehigh proved it could play with the best in the Patriot League.

Record 11 Mountain Hawks named Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars
A record 11 Lehigh student-athletes were recently recognized as recipients of the 2012 Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar Award as named earlier this week by Diverse Issues in Higher Education. Eight different Lehigh athletic programs are represented, including men’s and women’s cross country and track and field, men’s and women’s lacrosse, women’s golf, women’s swimming and diving, women’s soccer and softball.

Women’s soccer announces 2016 recruiting class
Lehigh women’s soccer head coach Eric Lambinus announced the team’s incoming class of 2016, which consists of seven student-athletes from five different states including California, New Mexico, New York, Michigan and Tennessee. The class also features a diverse group of talent, with multiple defenders and midfielders along with a goalkeeper.

Seventeen from women’s soccer named to Patriot League Academic Honor Roll
Lehigh women’s soccer placed 17 student-athletes on the Patriot League’s Academic Honor Roll, which was announced on Thursday. The Mountain Hawks earned success on and off the field in 2011, earning wins over Patriot League Champion Army and finalist Navy. They also sustained excellence in the classroom, led by senior Jana Basubas who was named Academic All-Patriot League while being named a Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award candidate.

Lehigh hands out awards at annual team banquet
The Lehigh women’s soccer team celebrated a strong 2011 season with is annual banquet on Sunday, Jan. 15, in the University Center. It was a chance for players and coaches to reflect on a season that featured a win over Patriot League finalist Navy and tie versus eventual league champion Army, along with a number of individual accolades.
