In 2002-03: Became the fastest Lehigh wrestler to reach 100 wins … EIWA champion at 197 for second straight season ... Lehigh’s first Midlands champion since Darryl Burley when he won the crown on Dec. 29 ... seeded No. 1 at NCAA’s ... tied for team lead with 34 wins.
In 2001-02: First Lehigh grappler since Darryl Burley (1979 and 1980) to be ranked in the top three nationally during first two seasons … second at NCAAs to legendary Cael Sanderson of Iowa State … was 34-4 overall with three losses coming to Sanderson … only other loss was to Tom Grossman of Oklahoma at National Duals … became the first Lehigh wrestler in 12 years to win the Las Vegas Tournament … had three pins at NCAAs finishing second for the pin trophy behind teammate Rob Rohn … recorded nine falls and 17 bonus point wins.
In 2000-01: Season ended with laser eye surgery on February 23 to repair detached and torn retinas … became the first collegian to require protective eyewear ... defeated men who placed first, second, fourth, and fifth, as well as four others seeded in the top twelve at Nationals … posted a record of 35-3, setting a Lehigh mark with 20 dual wins … compiled the second best freshman win-loss percentage in 30 years (.921), behind only Darryl Burley (1979).
In 1999-00: Deferred eligibility in 1999-00 … finished with 31-4 overall record (freestyle and collegiate), including 18 wins by fall … top win came in NYAC Freestyle Tournament over 1999 EIWA Outstanding Wrestler recipient Andrei Rodzianko of Pennsylvania … two losses were to All-Americans, one loss to World Champion Melvin Douglas and one to heavyweight Tommy Rowlands of Ohio State, who finished second at NCAAs in 2001 and first in 2002.
In Secondary School: Finished with a 145-16 record, 40-0 his senior year … two-time Pennsylvania state champion and three-time northeast regional Pennsylvania champion … finished first in 1999 National High School Championships and first in the 1999 ASIC National Junior Freestyle and Greco-Roman Championships … rated the nation’s top 197 lb. recruit in 1999.
