Strong start for Mountain Hawks at Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – After two rounds and 36 holes of action at the Bucknell Invitational Lehigh sits in fourth place out of 18 teams with a score of 621 (314, 307). Sophomore Chelsea Michalek led the Mountain Hawks on the first day of their first fall competition as she sits in a tie for fourth place with a 36 hole score of 149 (74, 75). Senior Emily Endres also ended day one in the top ten as she is tied
for eighth with a score of 151 (74, 77).
The hosts from Bucknell lead the team race after 36 holes with a score of 607 (303, 304), five strokes ahead of second place William & Mary. Rutgers is third place at 616, five shots ahead of the Brown and White who sit in fourth place, four shots in front of Radford.
Also competing for Lehigh on Saturday were sophomores Ginette Schapira, who is tied for 24th at 158 (82, 76), and Natalie Lansing, who is tied for 38th at 163 (84,79), and junior Taylor Orr, who shot 176 (87, 89) and sits in a tie for 66th.
Individually, Bucknell’s Minjoo Lee leads the field with a 147 (76, 71), one shot ahead of teammate Lauren Bernard and Emily Gimpel of William & Mary. Lehigh’s Michalek is just two shots off the lead.
The Bucknell Invitational concludes with 18 holes on Sunday beginning at 8:30 a.m.
