BETHLEHEM, Pa. –  Lehigh will travel to Williamsburg, Virginia this weekend to participate in the C&F Bank Intercollegiate women’s golf tournament, hosted by William & Mary. This will be the team’s second event of a spring season that’s been successful thus far. The Mountain Hawks will compete against 20 teams in the three-day event, including Boston College, Delaware, St. John’s, Toledo, Hampton, and the host Tribe.

Lehigh is coming off a strong showing at last week’s Sunshine Spring Classic in Florida. The Mountain Hawks finished first out of 10 teams and were led by sophomore Crystal Lee’s second-place overall finish. Junior Chelsea Michalek and Ginette Schapira joined Lee among the top ten overall performers at the tournament as the Mountain Hawks won the Sunshine Spring Classic for the second straight year.

At last year’s C&F Bank Invitational, the Mountain Hawks finished 12th out of 22 teams. The team will have to adjust to several changes to the tournament. For the first time since 1992, the tournament will be held over three rounds. A new location also awaits Lehigh as the tournament will be held at Kingsmill Resort this year on the famed River Course, which has hosted its share of major golf events. The River Course has hosted the Michelob Championships on the PGA Tour and the LPGA Michelob Ultra Open.

Action at the 54-hole C&F Bank Invitational begins Sunday and continues through Tuesday.
