Mountain Hawks open up action at Hoya Invitational

BEALSVILLE, Md. – The Lehigh women’s golf team completed the first 36 holes on the two-day Hoya Invitational Monday at the Members Club at Four Streams. The Mountain Hawks sit in 13th place in the 17 team field after shooting a first round 339 and a second round 334 for a 36-hole score of 673.
 
Sophomore Natalie Lansing led Lehigh on day one as she shot a 166 (83, 83) to tie for 40th. The trio of senior Emily Endres (87, 82), sophomore Natalie Lansing (83, 86) and freshman Crystal Lee (86, 83) are all tied for 52nd at 169. Endres’ second round 82 was the low round of the day for the Mountain Hawks. Sophomore Ginette Schapira shot a 177 (89, 88) to tie for 78th.
 
In addition, freshman Ava Panteli competed as an individual and shot a 183 (94, 89) as she sits in 85th place.
 
Sandra Changkija of Nova Southeastern University holds the 36-hole lead as she sits at two-over par 149 with rounds of 71 and 75. Harin Lee of St. John’s sits in second three strokes behind Changkija while Columbia’s Robin Lee sits in third.
 
Nova Southeastern leads the team race at 623 (307, 316), four strokes better than Yale (318, 309 – 627).
From its 13th place position, Lehigh is one stroke behind 12th place Sacred Heart and five shots in front of 14th place Richmond.
The Hoya Invitational will wrap-up with 18 holes on Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m.
