Lehigh women's golf hands out postseason team awards
After winning the inaugural Patriot League women’s golf championship in April, the Lehigh women’s golf team honored its two senior captains with team awards following the conclusion of the 2013 spring season. Senior Chelsea Michalek was named Outstanding Athlete and Scholar-Athlete while classmate Ginette Schapira took home the Coaches Award.

Nine Lehigh teams garner APR Public Recognition Awards
Nine Lehigh athletic teams were honored with Academic Progress Rate Public Recognition Awards, as announced by the NCAA on Wednesday. Awards are given each year to teams scoring in the top 10 percent in their respective sport with their Academic Progress Rate (APR). The teams that were recognized include: men’s basketball, softball, women’s cross country, women’s golf, women’s lacrosse, women’s rowing, women’s swimming and diving, women’s tennis and volleyball.

Three named Academic All-League; Schapira named Scholar-Athlete
Three members of the Patriot League champion Lehigh women’s golf team were honored for their academic work Monday as the league announced its academic award winners in women’s golf. Seniors Ginette Schapira and Chelsea Michalek, along with sophomore Kelly Moylan were named to the Academic All-Patriot League team, while Schapira was voted Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Michalek adds Golfer of the Month honors to recent trophy haul
Senior Chelsea Michalek capped her Lehigh career by winning individual medalist honors at the inaugural Patriot League Women’s Golf Championship. The Patriot League’s Outstanding Female Golfer of the Year, Michalek added another honor Thursday as she was named Patriot League Player of the Month for April.

Lehigh celebrates 2012-13 school year with annual convocation
Lehigh Athletics held its annual Convocation Program on Monday, April 29 at Baker Hall inside the Zoellner Arts Center to look back on the significant team and individual accomplishments of the past year. The event featured a highlight video, recognition of student-athlete winners of Lehigh University awards and the announcement of winners of Lehigh’s departmental awards.

Lehigh wins inaugural Patriot League Women's Golf Championship
The inaugural Patriot League Women’s Golf Championship went down to the wire Sunday at the Bucknell Golf Course but Lehigh held off Bucknell by three strokes to capture the team title. Senior Chelsea Michalek posted a five stroke victory to be the first Patriot League individual medalist as Lehigh finished the tournament at 315-317-309-941.

Michalek, Mountain Hawks lead Patriot League Championship after day one
With senior Chelsea Michalek leading the way, the Lehigh women’s golf team is off to a strong start after day one of the inaugural Patriot League Championship on the Bucknell Golf Course. Michalek holds a seven stroke lead over two players after the opening 36 holes, while as a team the Mountain Hawks lead the four team field by five strokes over second place Bucknell.

Lehigh heads to Bucknell for inaugural PL Women's Golf Championship
The Lehigh women’s golf team will head to Lewisburg, Pa. on Saturday for the inaugural Patriot League Women’s Golf Championship on the Bucknell Golf Course. The Mountain Hawks will face the host Bison as well as Holy Cross and Navy in their quest to win the first-ever Patriot League women’s golf title.

Mountain Hawks finish up play in Rhode Island
The Lehigh women’s golf team shot a final round 334 as the Mountain Hawks finished in 12th place at the Brown Bear Invitational, which concluded Monday at Rhode Island Country Club. The Mountain Hawks finished at 327-334-661 in their final tune-up before this weekend’s inaugural Patriot League Championship in Lewisburg, Pa.

Freshman Feierberg leads Lehigh on day one of Brown Bear Invite
Freshman Nicole Feierberg shot seven over par 79 to lead the Lehigh women’s golf team in round one of the Brown Bear Invitational Sunday at Rhode Island Country Club. Feierberg carded a 39 on the front nine and a 40 on the back nine to tie for 18th place as Lehigh shot 327 as a team to sit in 11th place in the 14-team field after day one of the 36-hole event.

Senior Chelsea Michalek shot a final round 73 to lead the Lehigh women’s golf team in a strong final round of the Hoya Invitational Tuesday at The Members Club at Four Streams. The Mountain Hawks shot a respectable 311 to finish in ninth place in the 14-team field with an overall score of 981 (328-342-311).

Lee earns league honor as Lehigh readies for Hoya Invitational

Mountain Hawks post top ten team finish at C&F Bank Intercollegiate
The Lehigh women’s golf team enjoyed a strong finish at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate as the second round of the weather-shortened tournament was completed Tuesday on the River Course at Kingsmill Resort. The Mountain Hawks bettered their opening round 321 with a second round 302 to finish at 623, which tied Lehigh for ninth place in the 28 team field.

Lehigh battles tough conditions in first round of C&F Bank Intercollegiate
Less than a week after earning medalist honors at the Lehigh Palm Beach Invitational, junior Crystal Lee led Lehigh with a 79 in the opening round of the C&F Bank Intercollegiate Sunday on the River Course at the Kingsmill Resort. Players battled cold, wet weather conditions Sunday as the Mountain Hawks shot 321 to tie for 13th place out of 28 teams after day one.

Mountain Hawks set to host spring-opening tournament in Florida
The Lehigh women’s golf team will be heading to Florida to open its spring season as the Mountain Hawks will host the three-team Lehigh Invitational Monday at The Lost Tree Club in North Palm Beach. The Mountain Hawks will be joined by Richmond and Yale for the one-day, 18-hole tournament on the club’s 6,044-yard, par-72 course.
