BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh women’s basketball senior forward Alexa Williams was named to the First Team All-Patriot League, as announced by the league Tuesday. The Warren, Ohio native leads the team in scoring, rebounding, steals and blocks. Her 8.9 rebounds per game rank #1 in the league while her 12.5 points rank #6. Williams was named the Patriot League Player of the Week twice this season as she is having a career year in the Brown and White.

Williams is joined on the All-Patriot League First Team by Alexis Dobbs (American), Anna Simmers (Army), Alex Smith (Holy Cross) and Lisa Strack (American).

Williams finished the regular season ranked in the top 10 in several categories. She ranks #4 in blocked shots (1.5), #7 in steals (1.5), #7 in field goal percentage (44.4%) and #8 in free-throw percentage (73.3%).

She also leads the league in free-throws made (137) and attempted (187). Her 187 free-throw attempts is a new Lehigh single-season record, surpassing the 186 mark set by Kelly Madden in the 1994-95 season. Williams is also 10 made free throws away from surpassing the school record.

On Jan. 18 against Bucknell, Williams moved into #11 on the Patriot League’s all-time blocks list (she currently has 122 for her career). A week later, with an offensive rebound early in the game at Navy, Williams became the 23rd student-athlete in Patriot League history to have 700 career rebounds. Her career total is now 765, which places her #3 all-time at Lehigh and #14 in the Patriot League, and is four rebounds away from moving into #13.

On Feb. 11 at Colgate, Williams had a career-high 27 points while tying her career-high of 10 made field goals. She has scored 23+ points three times this season. In her previous three seasons (95 games), she had none.

Williams averaged 14.3 points and 8.4 rebounds in league play, which ranked #2 and #3 respectively.

Williams had eight double-doubles this season which was the second most in the league. She has grabbed 13+ rebounds seven times.
