Mountain Hawks to welcome St. Francis (Pa.)

Posted: November 19, 2009

BETHLEHEM, Pa.  – The Mountain Hawks will stay at home as they look to start the season at 3-1 for the second straight year. Lehigh is coming off a 75-45 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday night at Stabler Arena. The Brown and White went into the half with a four point lead, but came out in the second half and went on a 22-2 run to put away the game. Sophomore Emily Gratch led Lehigh with 13 points and 11 rebounds for her first career double-double. St. Francis (Pa.) is off to a 0-2 start with losses to Marquette 74-38 and Delaware 77-64.

Besides Gratch, Lehigh’s offense was led by three other players who finished the game in double-figures: junior Erica Prosser (12), senior Alex Ross (10), and her classmate Ryan Ingalls (10). After shooting only 7.7 percent from beyond the three-point line in the first half, Lehigh shot 7-for-11 in the second half for 63.6 percent.

With a win Friday night it would give Lehigh seven-straight over the Northeast Conference and two-straight against St. Francis (Pa.). When Prosser scores at least 10 points in a game Lehigh has a 23-5 record during the last two seasons.

Tip-off is set for 7:05 p.m. Friday night from Stabler Arena on the Goodman Campus. The game will be broadcast live on WLVR-FM (91.3) with Mike Lederer and Matt Abramowitz calling the action. The game will also be streamed live on Lehighsports.com with Lederer and Abramowitz on the call. Tickets can be purchased by calling 610-7LU-GAME or by logging onto Lehighsports.com
