Posted: 06/21/2011
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following another successful season on the hardwood, nine members of the Lehigh women’s basketball program were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, it was announced Tuesday. Seven of the nine Mountain Hawk honorees had a grade point average of 3.60 or better including sophomore MaryBeth Egan, who was one of three women’s basketball players to earn a 4.0 GPA in the spring.

To be eligible for the honor roll a student-athlete must earn at least a 3.2 GPA and must participate in one of the league’s winter or spring championship sports.

An Economics major, Egan posted a 4.0 for the second straight spring semester. Right behind Egan was senior Kristen Dalton, who checked in with a 3.90 GPA in Journalism, while sophomore Kelly Peterson earned a 3.80 in Economics.

Also named to the honor roll for Lehigh were seniors Courtney Dentler and Erica Prosser, junior Aly Byorick, sophomore Sarah Pearce, and freshmen Lindsay Hoskins and Hilary Weaver. Prosser was named to the inaugural Academic All-Patriot League team in March.

A total of 45 women’s basketball student-athletes were named to the honor roll, led by Army’s Erin Anthony who was voted the league’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women’s basketball three months ago.
