BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Ten members of the Lehigh women’s basketball team were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday, capping off an impressive season on and off the court. The Mountain Hawks went 17-13 and advanced to the Patriot League Semifinals for the sixth straight season and hosted the game for the fourth straight season. Lehigh’s 10 student-athletes on the honor roll are tied for most in the Patriot League.
Lehigh’s academic success was led by junior Marybeth Egan, whose 3.86 GPA as an economics major earned her a third straight appearance on the honor roll. The Syracuse, N.Y. native had a stellar finish to the season as she scored a career-high 15 points on a career-high four threes in Lehigh’s semifinal loss.
Following Egan are fellow juniors Sarah Pearce (3.82), Becky Guman (3.75) and Kelly Peterson (3.73). Peterson was also named in February to the Patriot League’s five-member All-Academic Team.
To be eligible for the Spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League’s winter or spring championship sports.
