Lehigh opens home schedule with La Salle Tuesday
After knocking off Saint Peter’s last week for its first victory of 2012, the Lehigh women’s basketball team will host the La Salle Explorers Tuesday at 2 p.m. for the team’s home opener. The Explorers will be making their sixth trip to Bethlehem as the Mountain Hawks hold a 3-2 advantage at home over La Salle, including a current three-game home winning streak.

Mountain Hawks top Saint Peter’s 62-60 for first win
Led by a career-high 17 points and eight rebounds from junior Lindsay Hoskins, the Lehigh women’s basketball team pulled out its first win of the season on Wednesday, downing Saint Peter’s 62-60. The Mountain Hawks took their first lead of the game early in the second half, going up by as many as six before holding on for the hard-fought road victory.

Lehigh set for trip to Saint Peter’s
After falling to No. 13/15 Cal on Friday night in Berkeley, Calif., the Lehigh women’s basketball team will look to bounce back with a win when it takes on St. Peter’s in Jersey City, N.J. on Wednesday night for the third time in program history. The game will be the second of the season for both teams as each side will be looking for its first win of the 2012-13 season.

Mountain Hawks fall to No. 13/15 Cal, 80-48
Freshman Kerry Kinek shined in her debut as she recorded a double-double with a game-high 18 points and 11 rebounds in the Lehigh women’s basketball 80-48 season opener loss to No. 13/15 California on Friday night. The Mountain Hawks played particularly well in the second half, shooting 38.7 percent from the floor, while the Lehigh bench outscored Cal’s by seven in the final 20 minutes and forced three more turnovers.

Lehigh to take on No. 13/15 California in season opener
The Golden State will be the first stop for the Lehigh women’s basketball team as the Mountain Hawks will travel across the country to take on the No. 13/15 California Golden Bears in the season opener Friday night for a 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT) tip-off. Lehigh will begin its quest for the Patriot League crown in 2013 by playing its fourth ranked opponent over the past four seasons and will be searching for its first win over a Top 25 team in any of those match-ups.

Mixture of youth and experience the key for Lehigh in 2012-13
After winning 17 games, earning a two-seed in the Patriot League Tournament and hosting a semifinal game a year ago, the Lehigh women’s basketball team is gearing up for another season-long journey that will hopefully end with a fourth Patriot League championship. Head coach Sue Troyan must replace two key departures, but though this year’s team may be young, they are far from inexperienced.

Lehigh picked to finish fifth in Patriot League preseason poll
After a 17-win season and an appearance in the semifinals of the Patriot League Tournament, the Lehigh women’s basketball team was predicted to finish fifth in the annual preseason poll released by the Patriot League on Thursday. The Mountain Hawks garnered 58 points, finishing just eight points shy of fourth-place Army (66 points).

Lehigh basketball tickets on sale Thursday
With the season less than a month away, Lehigh men’s and women’s basketball season tickets will go on sale this Thursday while individual game tickets will follow next Thursday (Oct. 18). Following exciting 2011-12 seasons, anticipation has never been higher for the Mountain Hawks’ programs, as the men eye their third Patriot League Championship in the last four years while the women vie for their third title in the last five seasons.

Mountain Hawks begin preseason camp
The bright lights have been turned on once again inside Stabler Arena and preparations have begun as the Lehigh women’s basketball team opened its preseason camp earlier this week. The Mountain Hawks are gearing up in anticipation of the 2012-13 season that will begin in just over a month when Lehigh travels across the country to the Golden State to take on the California Golden Bears on Nov. 9.

Lehigh Basketball to host Midnight Madness on Oct. 12
As they begin to prepare for their seasons, the Lehigh men’s and women’s basketball programs will host Midnight Madness next Friday (Oct. 12) at 10:45 p.m. in Grace Hall. It will serve as a tremendous opportunity for students and fans to meet and interact with the Lehigh basketball players up close and personal. There will be contests, music, giveaways and much more as the Mountain Hawks kick off 2012-13. The event is free of charge.

Lehigh unveils 2012-13 women’s basketball schedule
After a 17-win season and earning a two-seed in the Patriot League Tournament, Lehigh women’s basketball head coach Sue Troyan announced the 2012-13 schedule on Wednesday. The Mountain Hawks will play a 29-game agenda and face a lofty array of opponents including teams from the PAC 12, Atlantic 10 and Big East in non-league play as well as a challenging Patriot League slate.

Troyan announces changes to coaching staff
Lehigh women’s basketball head coach Sue Troyan has announced a few changes to the coaching staff as the Mountain Hawks get set to gear up for the 2012-13 season. Caitlin Gillard was promoted from Director of Basketball Operations to the second assistant coach position, Laura Kurz was hired as the third assistant coach and Katie Kuester was hired as the new Director of Basketball Operations.

Lehigh places 93 women on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll
As part of a week-long celebration of the 40th anniversary of Title IX, the Patriot League announced all seven of its women’s winter/spring Academic Honor Rolls on Wednesday. Lehigh was well represented as the Mountain Hawks accounted for 93 of the over 650 women’s student-athletes named to the honor roll.

Lehigh places 10 on Patriot League Honor Roll
Ten members of the Lehigh women’s basketball team were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday, capping off an impressive season on and off the court. The Mountain Hawks went 17-13 and advanced to the Patriot League Semifinals for the sixth straight season. Lehigh’s 10 student-athletes on the honor roll are tied for most in the league.

Women’s basketball announces 2016 recruiting class
Lehigh head coach Sue Troyan has announced the addition of four student-athletes who will join the Mountain Hawks women’s basketball program in the fall. Guards Amina Affini and Elizabeth Jordan and forwards Kerry Kinek and Elizabeth Sharlow will comprise the Class of 2016. The four newcomers will join a Lehigh program that has posted three 20-win seasons in the past four years.

Lehigh falls short in Semifinals 64-59 to Navy
Despite a game- and career-high 15 points on a career-high four threes from junior Marybeth Egan, the second-seeded Lehigh women’s basketball team fell 64-59 Monday to the third-seeded and defending Patriot League Tournament Champion Navy. The Semifinal game featured seven ties and nine lead changes, but Lehigh was unable to score in the final two minutes bringing its stellar season to an end.

Lehigh hosts Navy Monday in PL Semifinal matchup
After topping seventh-seeded Bucknell in the Patriot League Quarterfinals on Thursday, the Lehigh women’s basketball team shifts its attention to Navy as the second-seeded Mountain Hawks host the third-seeded and defending Patriot League Tournament Champion Midshipmen in the Semifinals on Monday at 7 p.m. Lehigh swept the season series against Navy and has won nine of the last 10 meetings.

Lehigh defeats Bucknell 63-47; advances to PL Semifinals
The second-seeded Lehigh women’s basketball team used a 23-2 run over the course of two halves to cruise past the seventh-seeded Bucknell Bison 63-47 Thursday to advance to the Patriot League Semifinals. The Mountain Hawks will now host third-seeded Navy Monday at 7 p.m. at Stabler Arena. It is the sixth straight year in which Lehigh has advanced to the Semifinals.

Lehigh hosts Bucknell Thursday in PL Quarterfinals
The second-seeded Lehigh women’s basketball team (16-12, 9-5 PL) will open up the Patriot League Tournament Thursday with a 7 p.m. Quarterfinal matchup against the seventh-seeded Bucknell Bison (5-24, 3-11 PL) at Stabler Arena. The Mountain Hawks are riding a three-game winning streak as Lehigh begins its journey for its fourth league title and third in four years.
