BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following another championship season on the hardwood, the Lehigh women’s basketball team also put up impressive numbers in the classroom. Seven players on the roster earned a 3.70 grade point average or better in the spring semester and a total of eight Mountain Hawks were named to the Patriot League’s Academic Honor Roll, which was announced on Tuesday. To be eligible for the honor roll a student-athlete must earn at least a 3.2 GPA and must participate in one of the league’s winter or spring championship sports.
Freshman Marybeth Egan led the way for the Mountain Hawks with a perfect 4.0 GPA in the College of Arts and Sciences. Egan was one of six Patriot League women’s basketball student-athletes to earn 4.0 GPAs in the spring. Not far behind Egan were sophomore Emily Gratch, who posted a 3.93 GPA in the College of Business and Economics and freshman Kelly Peterson who earned a 3.92 in Arts and Sciences.
Also named to the honor roll for Lehigh were senior Ryan Ingalls, juniors Kristen Dalton and Erica Prosser, sophomore Aly Byorick, and freshman Sarah Pearce.
A total of 51 women’s basketball student-athletes were named to the Academic Honor Roll, led by Army’s Erin Anthony, who was voted Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women’s basketball in March.
