BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After a week that included knocking off Patriot League-leading Colgate, 39 total kills over two matches, a .325 hitting percentage and a 4.3 kills per set average, junior middle blocker Amanda Clark earned the Patriot League’s Molten Player of the Week honors for the period ending on October, 21. The Mountain Hawks will now begin a six-game homestand tomorrow night with a non-league tilt against Delaware State.

Lehigh handed Colgate their first Patriot League loss of the year, rebounding from hard fought loss to Bucknell in five sets the night before. Her double-digit kill performance was the third consecutive match in which the junior blocker recorded 10 or more kills. She has been an integral part of the Mountain Hawks program all season and has consistently dominated the nets with a team leading 181 kills on the season good for an average of 2.83 kills per contest.
Clark’s defensive effort was equally outstanding, as the Irvine, Calif. native combined for seven total blocks on the week, including five against Bucknell which equated to 31 percent of the total blocks by Lehigh on the night. Her 45 total blocks are second on the team this season, as she averages 0.70 per set thus far.
Lehigh opens a six-game homestand with a 7 p.m. non-league match against Delaware State tomorrow night at Leeman-Turner Arena inside Grace Hall. That will be followed by five-consecutive Patriot League contests to close out the regular season.
