Poole leads volleyball’s Taylor-made turnaround
Over the past four years, the Lehigh volleyball team has seen a huge turnaround in its record and overall success. After missing the Patriot League tournament for five consecutive years from 2004-2008, the team has qualified for postseason play in three of the past four seasons. A major reason for the turnaround has been senior middle blocker Taylor Poole.

Lehigh tied for second in initial Presidents' Cup standings
The Patriot League announced its initial Presidents’ Cup standings on Tuesday with Lehigh tied for second overall at the completion of the fall season. Lehigh checks in with 32 points and tops the men’s overall standings with 16 points. The Mountain Hawk women are tied for fifth place with 16 points.

Lehigh drops to Colgate, 3-0, in semifinals of PLT
Despite a terrific effort by senior Taylor Poole who hit .417 in the match, the Lehigh volleyball team fell to Colgate in the semifinals of the Patriot League Tournament on Saturday in straight sets. The Mountain Hawks held leads in the first and third sets, but were unable to capitalize and continue their efforts enough to come away with victories.

Lehigh to face top-seeded Colgate in semifinals of PLT Saturday
For the 17th time in program history, the Lehigh volleyball team will compete in the Patriot League Tournament in search of its third Patriot League crown. After a 3-1 victory over Holy Cross last Friday to clinch a tournament bid, the Mountain Hawks will now face the top-seeded Colgate Raiders on their home court on Saturday, November 17 at 3 p.m. It will be Lehigh’s second trip to Hamilton, N.Y. this season, the other a 3-1 win over the Raiders.

Clark earns Academic All-Patriot League team selection
Lehigh junior volleyball player Amanda Clark earned a selection to the Academic All-Patriot League team for the second-consecutive year after her impressive efforts in the classroom and on the court this season. Clark currently holds a 3.73 GPA as a Biology major, while also finishing the regular season second on the team with 203 kills and third with a .240 hitting percentage.

Charles and Poole earn All-Patriot League honors
Junior Rachel Charles earned the Libero of the Year award for the second-consecutive season, while senior outside hitter Taylor Poole was named first team All-Patriot League on Tuesday afternoon. Along with earning Libero of the Year, Charles was also named a second team All-Patriot League performer by the league.

Lehigh drops to Army, 3-1, in regular season finale
Despite a great effort by sophomore Kaylynn Genemaras, the Lehigh volleyball team dropped its regular season finale to the Army Black Knights, 3-1, on Saturday night. The Mountain Hawks played a tight match throughout, losing the first and third sets by a total of five points, but Army was able to finish off their sets for the victory.

Lehigh earns PLT berth with 3-1 win over Holy Cross
The Lehigh volleyball team earned its second Patriot League Tournament berth under head coach Bob Bertucci on Friday night after a 3-1 victory over the Crusaders. Mountain Hawks bounce back with impressive sweep of Navy
After dropping to American a night ago, the Lehigh volleyball team rebounded with a straight-set sweep of the Midshipmen on Saturday afternoon. With two 25-21 set wins giving them a 2-0 advantage in the match, the Mountain Hawks won a dramatic 27-25 set three for the match victory. Senior Taylor Poole led the Mountain Hawks with 11 kills and a .333 hitting percentage in one of the most important matches of the season.

Mountain Hawks fall to American in straight sets
The Lehigh volleyball team dropped to American on Friday night in straight sets despite an outstanding performance by freshman Stephanie Slater in her first collegiate match. Slater finished the game with seven kills, while sophomore southpaw Kaylynn Genemaras led the team with 11 kills and a .304 hitting percentage. The Mountain Hawks will now await Navy tomorrow afternoon in another crucial Patriot League tilt.

Volleyball changes times for weekend matches
Due to the damaging effects of Hurricane Sandy, game times have shifted for this weekend’s volleyball matches. Lehigh will now play American at 5 p.m. on Friday, followed by Lafayette and Navy at 8 p.m. On Saturday, Lehigh will now host Navy at 1 p.m. All three games will be played at Leeman-Turner Arena inside Grace Hall.

Led by sophomore Jade Van Streepen and junior Amanda Clark’s eight kills apiece, the Lehigh volleyball team knocked off the rival Leopards in straight sets for the second time this season, improving to 6-4 in Patriot League play. Lehigh downs Delaware State in straight sets
A straight-set sweep was how the Lehigh volleyball team started its six-game homestand on Tuesday night, after knocking off the Delaware State Hornets, 3-0. Clark earns Molten Player of the Week honors
After a week that included knocking off Patriot League-leading Colgate, 39 total kills over two matches, a .325 hitting percentage and a 4.3 kills per set average, junior middle blocker Amanda Clark earned the Patriot League’s Molten Player of the Week honors for the period ending on October, 21. Lehigh defeats Colgate, 3-1, for fifth Patriot League victory
The Lehigh volleyball team rebounded from last night’s loss to knock off the Patriot League-leading Raiders, handing Colgate its first league loss by a final score of 3-1. After dropping the first set, the Mountain Hawks rallied for three-consecutive set wins, as junior Amanda Clark led all attackers with a game-high 20 kills on the night. After dropping the first two sets to the Bison, the Lehigh volleyball team showed resiliency as it battled back to force a fifth and deciding set, but was unable to finish off the comeback as Bucknell earned the match, 3-2. On the heels of a straight-set victory at Holy Cross, the Lehigh volleyball team will conclude an eight-game road trip with a pair of Patriot League tilts this weekend beginning with Bucknell on Friday night, followed by a Saturday showdown with Colgate in Hamilton, N.Y. Mountain Hawks sweep Crusaders for their fourth Patriot League victory
In its seventh Patriot League match of the season, the Lehigh volleyball team toppled Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon in straight sets to improve to 4-3 in league play. The Mountain Hawks defeated the Crusaders for the ninth-straight match between the two teams, and the sweep was the fifth-consecutive straight set victory over Holy Cross. Mountain Hawks fall in straight sets to Black Knights
Though the Mountain Hawks put forth a tough effort and resilient attitude, the Lehigh volleyball team was swept in straight sets by the Black Knights of Army on Friday night. Lehigh battled back in each set, but Army was too much, as the Black Knights were able to close out the Mountain Hawks and end each comeback attempt. Lehigh will now travel to Massachusetts to take on Holy Cross in another Patriot League duel tomorrow evening.

After an impressive win in a hostile environment at Lafayette, the Lehigh volleyball team will travel to Villanova to take on the Wildcats in a non-league match against the Big East-foe on Tuesday night. The Lehigh volleyball team knocked off Prairie View A&M on Friday night in straight sets to open the TCU Molten Invitational Tournament. Senior Taylor Poole and junior Amanda Clark each recorded 10 kills in the match to help Lehigh to its second win of the season. Fresh off a heartbreaking defeat against Rutgers on Tuesday night, the Lehigh volleyball team will travel to Fort Worth, Texas to compete in the TCU Molten Invitational Tournament beginning Friday at 5:30 p.m. with a duel against the Prairie View A&M Panthers. Mountain Hawks fall to Scarlet Knights, 3-2
The Lehigh volleyball team took Rutgers to a fifth and deciding set on Tuesday night but was unable to come up with the win, losing 3-2 to the Scarlet Knights. The Mountain Hawks took a 2-1 lead in the match and were within two points of knocking off the Scarlet Knights in the fourth set, but Rutgers stormed back to tie the match at two sets apiece and eventually defeated Lehigh in the deciding fifth set.

Mountain Hawks fall to Delaware in opener at UVa Tournament
The Lehigh volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season Friday dropping a 3-1 decision to Delaware in the opening match of the Holiday Inn Jefferson Cup at Memorial Gymnasium. All four sets were tightly contested, but the Blue Hens prevailed 25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 25-21 for their first win of the season, while dropping the Mountain Hawks to 1-1.

Lehigh defeats Rider 3-1 in volleyball opener.
The Lehigh volleyball team opened its 2012 season with a 3-1 victory over Rider Sunday night inside Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall. The Mountain Hawks took a 2-0 lead early in the match and put the Broncs away in the fourth set, 25-21, for the win. With the fall season set to get underway on Friday, Lehigh Athletics has announced its fall broadcast schedule. For the third straight year Lehigh has partnered with Stretch Internet to deliver fans live action via the Lehigh GameCentral portal. Most men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey, and volleyball home contests will be broadcast live on the Lehigh web site as part of the GameCentral pay-per-view offering.

Lehigh held its annual Roger S. Penske/Lehigh Athletics Hall Fame banquet and induction ceremony on Saturday April 28, 2012 on the university’s Asa Packer Campus. Volleyball standout Kim (Freedman) Kellow ’99 was inducted following her election in the class of 2011, while former swimming and diving coach and director of admissions Bruce Gardiner and University Board of Trustees Chairman and former lacrosse student-athlete Dan Smith ’71 were inducted as part of a special election process.

Charles selected for U.S. Women’s National A2 Program
Lehigh volleyball sophomore libero Rachel Charles has been selected as one of 48 scholar-athletes to participate in this summer’s U.S. Women’s National A2 Team Program. Lehigh looks back at successful season at annual banquet
The Lehigh volleyball team marked the end of its season with its annual banquet on Sunday, Jan. 15 in the University Center. Three prestigious awards were presented to student-athletes who excelled, both on and off the court. The program included dinner, an awards presentation and time for reflection by coaches and players.

Nine Mountain Hawks named to League Academic Honor Roll
The Lehigh volleyball team placed nine student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the second most of any team in the League. The Mountain Hawks had a historic year on the court en route to earning a No. 3 seed in the Patriot League Tournament, its highest seed since 2003. Lehigh was equally successful off the court as the nine named to the Honor Roll had an average GPA of 3.45.
