Lehigh takes first two from Holy Cross to move to 10-0 in league
The Lehigh softball team reached the halfway point of Patriot League play at 10-0 and inched closer to clinching a tournament berth as the Mountain Hawks swept a doubleheader from Holy Cross Saturday at Freshman Field. Freshman Emily Bausher teamed with sophomore Ashley Quigley on a one-hitter as Lehigh took the opener 7-0, while junior Becca Bliss led the Mountain Hawks to a 5-1 win in the nightcap.

Mountain Hawks look to solidfy league standing in series at Holy Cross
The third weekend of Patriot League play sees the Lehigh softball team off to Worcester, Massachusetts for four games against Holy Cross. The Mountain Hawks enter the weekend leading the Patriot League standings by a game over Colgate and can potentially clinch a Patriot League tournament berth with a strong showing against the Crusaders.

Extra inning win powers Lehigh to Wednesday split at Hofstra
In a battle of two of the top softball programs in the northeast, Lehigh and Hofstra split a doubleheader Wednesday at Hofstra Softball Stadium. The host Pride took their opener 10-1 in five innings for their fourth straight win before the Mountain Hawks came back to take the nightcap 7-6 in eight innings. With the split Lehigh is 25-15 40 games into its season.

Regional powers clash Wednesday as Lehigh visits Hofstra
Winners of their last five games, the Mountain Hawks travel to New York on Wednesday to face the Hofstra Pride for a midweek doubleheader. Lehigh has won 11 of its last 12 games, including a weekend sweep of league rival Bucknell, but will be tested Wednesday against a Hofstra team that has been equally hot as of late and has perennially been one of the strongest programs in northeast softball.

Bausher, Colquhoun honored by league as Lehigh's hot streak continues
Two Lehigh softball players were honored Monday with Patriot League awards for their efforts, as the Mountain Hawks rolled to a 5-1 record last week highlighted by a four-game weekend sweep of Patriot League rival Bucknell. For the fourth straight week, freshman Emily Bausher was honored by the league with a Rookie of the Week nod, her fifth honor in the last six weeks. Senior Jen Colquhoun was named the Patriot League Player of the Week for the third time this season.

Lehigh pitches two more shutouts to sweep Bucknell
The Lehigh softball team capped off a four-game sweep of Bucknell Sunday in dominant fashion, topping the Bison, 8-0 and 9-0 in two more five-inning games shortened by the eight-run rule. Junior Becca Bliss and freshman Emily Bausher led the way in the circle while senior Jen Colquhoun highlighted game two with a pair of homers to pull within one of the Lehigh single-season record.

Lehigh opens Bucknell series with two run-rule wins Saturday
Behind an impressive all-around team performance Lehigh opened its first Patriot League home series by sweeping a doubleheader from Bucknell Saturday at Kaufman Field. The Mountain Hawks posted wins by 9-0 and 8-0 scores as both games ended after the top of the fifth inning due to the eight run rule.

Mountain Hawks welcome Bucknell for four in league home opener
The Lehigh softball team will look to continue its recent winning ways as the Mountain Hawks return home this weekend to host Bucknell for a pair of doubleheaders in their Patriot League home opener. Opening pitch Saturday is set for 1 p.m. from Kaufman Field, while Sunday’s action will get underway at noon.

Win streak snapped at six, but Lehigh splits doubleheader at Rider
After seeing its six game winning streak end with a game one loss, Lehigh bounced back to defeat Rider 5-2 in the nightcap to earn a doubleheader split Wednesday at Herb & Joan Young Field. Senior Audra Wood had two hits and two RBI in game two as Lehigh moves to 20-14 overall. The Mountain Hawks fell 6-3 in Wednesday’s opener.

Fernandez named a finalist for Lowe's Senior CLASS Award
Lehigh softball senior Julie Fernandez has been named one of ten finalists for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS award, after continuing to excel both on and off the field, it was announced Wednesday. Nationwide fan voting begins immediately to help determine the winner, which will be announced at the NCAA Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Mountain Hawks visit Rider for Wednesday doubleheader
Coming off an impressive series sweep of rival Lafayette, Lehigh will travel to Lawrenceville, N.J. Wednesday for an afternoon doubleheader with the Rider Broncs. First pitch for game one is set for 3 p.m. from Herb & Joan Young Field as the Mountain Hawks will put their season-high-tying six game winning streak on the line.

Bausher nets third straight Rookie of the Week award
For the third straight week, Lehigh freshman pitcher Emily Bausher has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday. Bausher earned three more victories last week including a complete-game win over Fordham and two shutout victories over rival Lafayette. This marks Bausher’s fourth Patriot League weekly honor in the last five weeks.

Hot hitting propels Lehigh to series sweep at Lafayette
The Lehigh softball team extended its winning streak to six and completed a series sweep of Lafayette by taking two more games from the Leopards Sunday at Metzgar Fields. The Mountain Hawks totaled 18 runs and 27 hits in the two games, taking the opener 7-0 and the nightcap 11-3 to move to 19-13 overall and 4-0 in the Patriot League.

Lehigh bats come alive in doubleheader sweep of Fordham
In its final tune-up before Patriot League play begins this weekend, Lehigh pounded out 25 hits in a doubleheader sweep of defending Atlantic 10 champion Fordham Wednesday at Kaufman Field. Lehigh won the opener 7-2 and needed a comeback to win the nightcap 4-2. With the sweep the Mountain Hawks enter Patriot League play at 15-13 overall.

The Lehigh softball pitching staff allowed a total of four runs in six games last week and on Monday a pair of Mountain Hawk hurlers were recognized with Patriot League weekly awards. Junior Rebecca Bliss threw three shutouts last week and was named Patriot League Pitcher of the Week, while freshman Emily Bausher added third shutout of the season and was named Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.

Bliss hurls another shutout as Lehigh splits Sunday with Harvard
Pitching was once again the story as Lehigh and Harvard wrapped up their four game series with a doubleheader Sunday at Kaufman Field. Junior Rebecca Bliss fired her third shutout of the week, a three-hitter as Lehigh took Sunday’s opener 2-0, but Harvard captured the nightcap 1-0 in nine innings as Laura Ricciardone edged freshman Emily Bausher.

Lehigh splits tightly contested doubleheader with Harvard
Junior Becca Bliss fired her second straight complete game shutout, this one a two-hitter and Lehigh pushed across an unearned run in the bottom of the sixth as the Mountain Hawks beat Harvard 1-0 in game two of a doubleheader Saturday at Kaufman Field. The Crimson built a 3-0 lead in game one and held off a late Lehigh rally to win 3-1.
