Three from Lehigh land on NFCA All-Region teams
Three members of the Lehigh softball program were recognized Thursday as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its All-Region teams. Freshman third baseman Morgan Decker was a first team Mid-Atlantic Region selection while Lehigh’s top two pitchers, senior Becca Bliss and sophomore Emily Bausher, were named to the second team.

Army stuns Lehigh with two shutouts to claim PL Championship
Lehigh entered Saturday needing just one win to claim its third consecutive Patriot League championship, but Army had other ideas. Army pitcher Morgan Lashley threw a pair of shutouts as the Black Knights stunned the Mountain Hawks 4-0 and 5-0 at Kaufman Field to claim their first title since 2002.

Mountain Hawks down Army 8-0 to advance to 2013 PL Championship
Freshman Morgan Decker kick started the offense with a two-run home run, sophomore Emily Bausher threw a shutout in the circle and senior Liz Lucas had the game-ending RBI double as the No.1 seed Lehigh softball team defeated second seeded Army 8-0 in six innings Friday at Kaufman Field.

Lehigh jumps out with 3-1 victory against Colgate to open PLT
The top seeded Lehigh softball team scored in each of the first two innings on its way to a 3-1 victory over fourth seeded Colgate on Thursday at Kaufman Field to open Patriot League Tournament play. With the victory, the Mountain Hawks extended their winning streak to 13 games matching the 2005 Lehigh squad and last year’s Army team for the longest winning streak in league history.

Mountain Hawks to host Patriot League Tournament beginning Thursday
The Lehigh softball team seeks its third straight Patriot League tournament title and eighth in the last ten years as the Mountain Hawks host the 2013 Patriot League tournament at Kaufman Field beginning Thursday. The Mountain Hawks went 21-2 in April improving their overall record to 35-14-1, while Lehigh won its second straight Patriot League regular season title with a 17-3 league mark.

Roessel named softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Lehigh senior centerfielder Rosie Roessel has been named Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for softball, it was announced Tuesday. The award marks the fifth straight year and the ninth time overall a Lehigh softball player has won the award. Roessel was also named to the Academic All-Patriot League team for the third straight year, where she is joined by sophomore Emily Bausher.

Lehigh sweeps major awards; seven named All-Patriot League
After capturing its second straight regular season championship and 18th overall, the Lehigh softball team finds itself well represented as the Patriot League announced its All-League teams and major award winners Tuesday. Freshman Morgan Decker was named the league’s Player and Rookie of the Year, while senior Becca Bliss was named Pitcher of the Year. Head coach Fran Troyan was named Coach of the Year for the second straight year. In all, seven Mountain Hawks were named All-Patriot League.

Taking advantage of all Lehigh has to offer
Upon listening to senior softball player Liz Lucas discuss her involvement with softball and leadership at Lehigh, the obvious question that comes to mind is how she finds time to sleep at night? On top of excelling on the softball field, Lucas has also somehow managed to pursue a wide variety of other leadership opportunities on campus in addition to impressing in the classroom.

Roessel named to Academic All-District Team
he Lehigh softball team is off from competition this week as the Mountain Hawks take their final exams. On Thursday, senior centerfielder Rosie Roessel was honored for her work in the classroom as she was named to the Capital One Academic All-District II Team. Roessel has enjoyed a stellar career on the field and in the classroom for the two-time defending Patriot League champions.

Lucas receives two LVAIAW awards Tuesday
Lehigh senior catcher Liz Lucas was recognized for her stellar career Tuesday at the annual LVAIAW (Lehigh Valley Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women) awards luncheon at Starters Restaurant. Lucas was recognized as the outstanding softball student-athlete among Lehigh Valley colleges and universities and was also named the Outstanding Athlete at Lehigh.

Lehigh celebrates 2012-13 school year with annual convocation
Lehigh Athletics held its annual Convocation Program on Monday, April 29 at Baker Hall inside the Zoellner Arts Center to look back on the significant team and individual accomplishments of the past year. The event featured a highlight video, recognition of student-athlete winners of Lehigh University awards and the announcement of winners of Lehigh’s departmental awards.

Lehigh completes regular season with sweep at Colgate
The Lehigh softball team closed out the regular season with two wins over Colgate Sunday to sweep the four game series at Eaton Street Field. The Mountain Hawks took the opener 7-0 behind a seven-hit shutout from senior Becca Bliss and junior Ashley Quigley, and then rallied from 1-0 to score three times in the seventh to win the nightcap 3-1.

Mountain Hawks clinch regular season title with Saturday sweep
The Lehigh softball program clinched its 17th Patriot League regular season champion and second in as many years with a doubleheader sweep of Colgate Saturday at Eaton Street Field. The Mountain Hawks took the opener 7-2 and won the nightcap 3-0 to improve to 33-14-1 overall and 15-3 in the Patriot League.

Mountain Hawks sweep Columbia in final home doubleheader
The Lehigh softball team eclipsed the 30 win mark for the 13th consecutive season as the Mountain Hawks swept a doubleheader from Columbia Tuesday at Kaufman Field. Junior Ashley Quigley threw six innings of two-hit ball as Lehigh took the opener 5-1, while senior Rosie Roessel’s sixth inning RBI infield single broke a 3-3 tie and gave the Mountain Hawks a 4-3 nightcap win.

Lehigh sweeps weekly softball awards; hosts Columbia Tuesday
Following a 6-0 week that included a four game sweep of Patriot League rival Holy Cross, Lehigh swept the league’s weekly awards, announced Monday. Freshman Morgan Decker was named Player of the Week for the second straight week and added Rookie of the Week honors as well. Senior Becca Bliss was named Pitcher of the Week after hurling three two-hit shutouts in three starts.

Behind a pair of dominant pitching performances from senior Becca Bliss and sophomore Emily Bausher, the Lehigh softball team completed a four-game sweep of Holy Cross with two wins Sunday at Kaufman Field. Bliss struck out a career-high 11 in her third straight two-hit shutout as Lehigh took the opener 8-0 in six innings, while Bausher followed with a one-hitter and 13 strikeouts as the Mountain Hawks took the nightcap 4-0.
