WHY LEHIGH? “I chose Lehigh because of its excellent engineering school and its multitude of both social and academic opportunities. Had I gone to another school, I probably would not have been able to join crew and become a member of such a close team.”
ON THE COACHING STAFF: “All of the coaches have been doing an amazing job in guiding the team towards our goals, and are by far the best coaches I’ve had in any sport. I’ve heard stories from some of the more experienced members of the team, and the impression I get is that we are lucky to have such an incredible coaching staff.”
AS A FRESHMAN (2010-11): Member of a strong Freshmen Eight Crew that went on to place fifth in the semifinals of the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta (5/14). Posted a time of 6:30.06, which was less than 18 seconds out of first … Part of the Freshmen Eight that won the Lehigh River Cup (4/16) (5:44.30) … Finished third in the Petite Finals at the Knecht Cup (4/9-10) with a time of 6:30.93 … Member of the Freshmen Eight crew that won the Neuweiler Plate (4/2) by 45 seconds (6:56.70) … Stroke three for the Freshmen Eight that came in first at the Frostbite Regatta (11/13) with a time of 6:53.41.
BEFORE LEHIGH: Swam all four years of high school in a co-op program … Member of the Point Beach swim team for first two years and the Manasquan swim team for the remaining two … Captained high school team and received the Manasquan High School Swimming Leadership Award … Received Coaches Award in Cross Country senior year … Salutatorian of graduating class … Awarded the President’s Education Award for Academic Excellence and the Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholar Award.
PERSONAL: Son of Scott and Karen Meredith … Enjoys surfing, swimming, ocean rowing, guitar and cooking … Lists Pop-pop as most admired person and Eddie Aikau as favorite athlete.
