Men’s cross country pulls out of Iona Meet of Champions
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men’s cross country team will not be participating in the Iona Meet of Champions this weekend due to a violation of the expectations Lehigh holds for its student-athletes. The decision to forfeit the privilege of competing Saturday at Iona was made by Murray H. Goodman Dean of Athletics, Joe Sterrett.
Instead, Lehigh’s team will be engaged in a team training obligation and later will participate in some educational programming and service work.
Pending completion of these obligations, the Mountain Hawks return to action next Friday when they host Lafayette on the Goodman Campus. That precedes the Paul Short run set for the following Friday (Sept. 30).
