BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men’s cross country team has placed 11 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, which is tied for the second most in the league. Sophomore business major Ryan Knouse led the Mountain Hawks with a 4.00 GPA while senior bioengineering major Evan Flach achieved a 3.96 GPA to cap off a stellar cross country season on and off the course.

It was Knouse’s second straight season on the list as he also had a 4.00 GPA last fall while it is Flach’s third time on the honor roll. Sophomore civil engineering major Russell Vignali had a 3.69 GPA and sophomore mechanical engineering major Kenneth Wilkinson had a 3.68 GPA as the duo joined Knouse and Flach on Lehigh’s Dean List by earning over a 3.60 GPA.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the semester of their sport's competition.
Lehigh men’s cross country also had a student-athlete honored in November as senior computer science major Evans Kosgei was named the 2011 Patriot League Men’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
The Mountain Hawks finished an impressive 11th at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Qualifiers to cap off a successful 2011 season, which included a third place finish at the Patriot League Championships.
Nine of the 11 student-athletes named to the honor roll are underclassmen as Lehigh looks towards a successful future on and off the course.
