Mountain Hawks picked fourth in PL Outdoor Preseason Poll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – With the 2012 outdoor season ready to get underway, the Lehigh men’s track and field team has been picked to finish fourth in the Patriot League preseason poll, as announced by the league Thursday. The Mountain Hawks garnered 61 points to finish behind Bucknell (94), Navy (89) and Army (75) and ahead of Lafayette (51), Colgate (30), American (27) and Holy Cross (21).
The preseason polls are voted on by the coaches and sports information directors for each school.
Lehigh finished fourth at the Patriot League Indoor Championships in February and fourth at the 2011 Outdoor Championships.
The defending champion Bucknell Bison were picked to finish first overall and will look to make it three straight Patriot League Championships.
Lehigh will kick off its outdoor season Saturday when the Mountain Hawks will travel to Philadelphia to compete in the Big 5 Invitational, hosted by Penn. The outdoor Patriot League Championships will be held at Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. on May 4th and 5th.
