BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh track and field senior co-captain Kyle Forrest was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, as announced by the league Friday. Forrest earns his third Academic All-League nod as the Accounting major has a 3.60 GPA. Forrest was also a Second Team All-Patriot League performer this season.
Forrest placed second at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships in the decathlon with 6,531 points to qualify him for the ECAC Championships which Forrest is competing in this weekend in Princeton, N.J. Forrest threw a personal best 34.73m in the discus at the Championships while earlier in the season, he threw a personal best 44.55m in the javelin at the Winthrop Invitational. Forrest also set a personal record in the long jump at the Coach P Invitational at Moravian with a distance of 6.90m.
Off the track and field, Forrest earned a Faculty Athletics Council Award. He was also a two-time Patriot League Honor Roll member.
To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
