Lehigh finishes fall season with strong showing versus league rivals
The Lehigh men’s tennis team closed out its fall season with a strong showing in the three-day Lehigh Fall Invitational which concluded Sunday inside the Lewis Tennis Center. The Mountain Hawks battled league rivals Colgate, Lafayette and Army and posted a combined record of 20-7 in their final action of the fall season.

Mountain Hawks welcome three league rivals in fall finale
Lehigh men’s tennis team will be hosting the Lehigh Fall Invitational beginning Friday at 3:30 p.m. The three-day event continues through Sunday with matches taking place on the Ulrich Varsity Courts and inside the Lewis Tennis Center. Lehigh welcomes Patriot League foes Army, Colgate and Lafayette for its final event of the fall season.

Gilman, Petersen have strong showing at USTA/ITA Regionals
It was a weekend of firsts for the Lehigh men’s tennis program as sophomores Ben Gilman and Mitchell Petersen competed at the USTA/ITA Northeast Regional Championships at Yale’s Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center. Both players were placed directly in the main draw, and Gilman delivered the Mountain Hawks’ first-ever ITA win in the championship bracket on Friday.

Host Mountain Hawks enjoy winning weekend at Lehigh Invitational
The Lehigh men’s tennis team enjoyed a strong showing as the hosts of the Lehigh Invitational, which wrapped-up Sunday on the Goodman Campus. There was no official team scoring on the weekend, but Lehigh came up on the positive side of the ledger against all four opponents it faced: Loyola (Md.), Delaware, Saint Francis (Pa.) and Bucknell.

Mountain Hawks set to host three-day Lehigh Invitational
The Lehigh men’s tennis team will be hosting the Lehigh Fall Tennis invitational on the Goodman Campus beginning Friday and continuing through Sunday. The event will take place on the Ulrich Varsity Courts and inside the Lewis Tennis Center. Lehigh will be joined by Saint Francis (Pa.), Bucknell, Delaware and Loyola (Md.) in the five-team event.

Lehigh opens fall with strong showing at Penn Invitational
The Lehigh men’s tennis team opened its fall season with a solid showing at the Penn Invitational which wrapped-up Sunday on the Hamlin Tennis Courts and Levy Pavilion. Seven Mountain Hawks competed in seven singles brackets and two doubles brackets as one of 16 teams in attendance at the three-day event.

Mountain Hawks set to open fall season at Penn Invitational
The Mountain Hawks men’s tennis team will begin its fall schedule Friday as they travel to Philadelphia to take part in the Penn Invitational. The three-day tournament is the first of four events Lehigh will take part in. The Mountain Hawks enter the new season with new leadership as former assistant coach Wouter Hendrix takes over the head coaching reins for the Lehigh men.

Lehigh announces restructuring within its tennis programs
Lehigh Dean of Athletics Joe Sterrett announced on Friday a restructuring of the coaching staff within the tennis programs. Both the men’s and women’s programs will now have a dedicated head coach. Dave Shook will continue as head coach for women’s tennis while former assistant coach, Wouter Hendrix, will move into the role of head men’s coach. In addition, the Mountain Hawks added women’s assistant coach Tammy Cecchini and graduate assistant (for both programs) Jackie Carleton.

Lehigh lands five on men's tennis academic honor roll
On the heels of another successful season on the courts the Lehigh men’s tennis team placed five student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, announced Tuesday. Leading the way for the Mountain Hawks was junior Andrew Krentz, who was voted Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men’s tennis last month.

Krentz tabbed as men's tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Lehigh junior Andrew Krentz has been named the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men’s tennis, it was announced on Wednesday. Krentz becomes Lehigh’s first Patriot League Scholar-Athlete in men’s tennis since 2004. He also is one of six student-athletes to be named to the Academic All-Patriot League team, an honor he has earned for the second straight year.

Lehigh places three on All-Patriot League men's tennis teams
The Lehigh men’s tennis team had three student-athletes named to the All-Patriot League teams announced Tuesday. Sophomore Mark Goldberg and freshman Ben Gilman earned first team honors, while freshman Mitchell Petersen was named to the second team for the Mountain Hawks, who finished the season at 13-8 overall.

Mountain Hawks upended by Army in Patriot League semifinals
The Lehigh men’s tennis team fell short of a second straight Patriot League finals appearance as the second seeded Mountain Hawks fell 4-0 to No. 3 seed Army Saturday at Navy’s Tose Family Tennis Center. The defending tournament champion Black Knights won the race to four points by capturing two doubles matches and three singles matches.

Lehigh advances to PL Semifinals with 4-0 win vs. Holy Cross Friday
The No. 2 seed Lehigh men’s tennis team (13-7) advanced to the Patriot League Semifinals Friday thanks to a 4-0 win over No. 7 seed Holy Cross (1-6). The Mountain Hawks swept the doubles point before winning at No. 4, 5 and 6 singles for the sweep of the Crusaders. Lehigh will take the court again Saturday, facing No. 3 Army in the semifinals at 2 p.m.

Lehigh holds off upset bid from rival Lafayette
In its final regular season match, Lehigh received a tough challenge from rival Lafayette but freshman Ben Gilman’s third set triumph at No. 2 singles propelled the Mountain Hawks to a 4-3 win over the Leopards Wednesday on the Sullivan Courts. Lafayette won two of three doubles matches but Lehigh responded, taking four of six singles matches to defeat its rival for the fourth straight season.

Riding a two-match win streak, the Lehigh men’s tennis team will travel to Easton Wednesday, as the Mountain Hawks face archrival Lafayette in the regular season finale for both teams. Lehigh is cemented in second place in the Patriot League standings and will look for a strong showing in in final tune-up before the league tournament this weekend at Navy.

After losing the doubles point, the Lehigh men’s tennis team rallied to win five straight singles matches to rally for a 5-2 win over Bucknell Tuesday on the Ulrich Varsity Courts. Freshman Ben Gilman rallied for a three-set win at No. 2 singles to clinch the match for the Mountain Hawks, who improved to 11-7 overall and 3-1 in league matches this season.

Sophomore Mark Goldberg and junior Matt Savran picked up singles wins to lead Lehigh but the Mountain Hawks dropped a 5-2 decision to visiting Marist Friday on the Ulrich Varsity Courts. The Red Foxes swept the doubles matches, and after falling behind 2-1 won the final four singles contests. With the loss Lehigh is now 9-7 on the season.

Men's tennis set to open spring season Saturday at Penn State
The Lehigh men’s tennis team will open its 2012 season this Saturday at Penn State. The team is coming off a strong 2011 season in which it finished with a 15-7 record and advanced to the Patriot League Championship match for the first time in school history. The Mountain Hawks will look to replace its top two players from last season in Troy List and Collin Laffey, who both graduated. Both were named to the All-Patriot League team.

Lehigh men picked third in Patriot League preseason poll
As the men’s tennis team gets sets to open its spring season at Penn State on January 28, the Patriot League released its preseason tennis poll on Friday. The Mountain Hawks were picked to finish third out of seven teams with 51 points behind Army and Navy, respectively. Army received 72 points and twelve first place votes while Navy received 59 points and two first-place votes. The poll is voted on by the league’s coaches and sports information directors.
