Mountain Hawk men set to host Delaware Sunday at noon
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Coming off a busy weekend where they split two matches the Lehigh men’s tennis team will return to their home courts when the Mountain Hawks host Delaware Sunday afternoon inside the Lewis Tennis Center. Last weekend’s matches included a 7-0 loss on the road to Penn State and a 7-0 win at home against Saint Francis (Pa.), improving Lehigh to 2-1 on the season.
Last Saturday, the Nittany Lions swept the doubles matches and won all six singles matches to take the shutout victory at home against the Mountain Hawks. Lehigh bounced back and impressed in their home match against St. Francis the following day, sweeping through all three doubles matches and winning the first five singles matches before earning a win by default at No. 6 singles.
Four Mountain Hawks: seniors Andrew Krentz and Matt Savran and sophomores Ben Gilman and Mitchell Petersen are all 2-1 in singles on the early season. In doubles play, Lehigh’s No. 2 and No. 3 teams of Savran and freshman Jeremy Kochman and Krentz and Gilman also have two victories.
This Sunday, the Mountain Hawks will face a 1-0 Blue Hen squad that has only played one match so far this season. The Blue Hens won their season opener against Morgan State University on the road.
