List repeats as Patriot League Player of the Month

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh senior captain Troy List has been named Patriot League Men’s Tennis Player of the Month for the second consecutive month, it was announced Thursday. List, the league’s Player of the Year in 2010, went 5-2 at No. 1 singles and 6-1 playing alongside Collin Laffey at No. 1 doubles in the second full month of the season for the Mountain Hawks. With List leading the way Lehigh finished the month of March at 11-5 overall.
The award is the fourth Player of the Month honor for List, who is in his third season manning Lehigh’s No. 1 singles and doubles spot. List propelled the Mountain Hawks during their three match win streak in March, and helped Lehigh one of its best starts in recent history. He produced a 5-2 singles record, going 2-1 against league foes in the month and making his career spring singles record 53-27 for the Brown and White, good for fourth among Lehigh players under Dave Shook.
In doubles action, List and Laffey paced the Mountain Hawks through March only losing one match to Delaware. List and Laffey went on a six match-win streak prior to a loss Sunday against Navy after the List is second in all time doubles wins at Lehigh in Dave Shook’s 22 years as coach with a 49-31 overall record.
The Mountain Hawks carry a 12-5 record and 3-1 Patriot League mark into Thursday’s match at Bucknell. Lehigh will wrap-up the regular season at Colgate Saturday at 10 a.m. before returning home to host the Patriot League Tournament beginning April 15.
