Lehigh held its annual Roger S. Penske/Lehigh Athletics Hall Fame banquet and induction ceremony Saturday. Volleyball standout Kim (Freedman) Kellow ’99 was inducted from he class of 2011, while former swimming coach and director of admissions Bruce Gardiner and University Board of Trustees chairman and former lacrosse player Dan Smith ’71 were inducted as part of a special election process.
The swimming and diving program hosted its annual year-end banquet last Sunday, March 25th, at the Wood Dining Room in Iacocca Hall on Lehigh’s Mountaintop Campus. The luncheon is held to celebrate the year’s successes and to recognize outstanding student-athletes with annual program and team awards. The afternoon also featured remarks from head coach Rob Herb and several student-athletes.
Lehigh senior Connor Styles concluded the Mountain Hawks’ swimming and diving season as he competed at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships, Friday and Saturday at the University at Buffalo’s Alumni Arena Natatorium. Styles became the first Mountain Hawk to qualify for the regional zone diving meet since 2008 as he competed in both the one and three meter events.
For the first time since 2008, a Lehigh diver has qualified for the NCAA regional meet. Senior Connor Styles will travel to Buffalo this weekend to represent the Mountain Hawks at the Zone A NCAA diving competition, Friday and Saturday at the University at Buffalo’s Alumni Arena Natatorium.
Following a fourth place finish at last week’s Patriot League Championships, five members of Lehigh’s men’s swimming and diving team were named to the All-Patriot League second team, announced Wednesday. Swimmers Chris Hoke, Frank Cuzzola, Alex Aboud and Danny Bennett and diver Connor Styles comprised five of the 19 spots on the second team.
