Styles concludes career at NCAA Zone A Diving Championships
Lehigh senior Connor Styles concluded the Mountain Hawks’ swimming and diving season as he competed at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships, Friday and Saturday at the University at Buffalo’s Alumni Arena Natatorium. Styles became the first Mountain Hawk to qualify for the regional zone diving meet since 2008 as he competed in both the one and three meter events.

Styles set to compete at NCAA zone diving meet
For the first time since 2008, a Lehigh diver has qualified for the NCAA regional meet. Senior Connor Styles will travel to Buffalo this weekend to represent the Mountain Hawks at the Zone A NCAA diving competition, Friday and Saturday at the University at Buffalo’s Alumni Arena Natatorium.

Seven Mountain Hawks named to All-Patriot League teams
The Lehigh swimming and diving teams placed seven student-athletes on the All-Patriot League teams announced Wednesday. Freshman Alissa Leung led the way earning first team honors, while junior Emily DiDonato joined five men: senior Connor Styles, juniors Alex Aboud and Frank Cuzzola, sophomore Chris Hoke and freshman Danny Bennett in receiving second team laurels.

Lehigh men finish fourth, women fifth at Patriot League Championships
The Lehigh swimming and diving teams completed a strong showing at the Patriot League Championships as competition wrapped-up Saturday night at Navy’s Lejeune Hall. Three more school records fell on Saturday bringing Lehigh’s total for the championships to seven. The Mountain Hawk men finished in fourth place with 460 points, while the women placed fifth with 317.5 points.

Two school records fall on day two of PL Championships
Two more school records fell as Lehigh completed the second day of competition at the Patriot League Championships Friday at Navy’s Lejeune Hall. Junior Alex Aboud broke his own school record in the 400 yard individual medley, while freshman Alissa Leung set a new school mark in the 100 yard backstroke. Lehigh’s women moved up to fifth place overall, while the men are now in fourth place.

Shoemaker sets high standards for himself, Mountain Hawks
Earlier in the school year, Lehigh head coach Rob Herb wanted to teach his squad a new stretching system. It was part of Herb’s goal of raising the bar for his program and swimmers. His only problem: he could only have so much contact with his team due to NCAA off-season rules. That’s when senior Kevin Shoemaker came in. Shoemaker took the challenge of teaching the system to the underclassmen. The more sessions Shoemaker conducted, the more his teammates began buying into the system.

Lehigh travels to Penn State for final dual meet of season
The Lehigh swimming and diving teams will travel to Penn State this weekend as they attempt to down the Nittany Lions in their last dual meet of the season. The meet will serve as a final tune up for both the Lehigh men and women before the Patriot League Championships February 16-18 at Navy.

Men's swimming and diving falls short in loss at Drexel
After winning their first seven dual meets of the season, Lehigh’s men’s swimming and diving team came up short for the third straight week, as the Mountain Hawks fell at Drexel 167-133 Saturday at the Drexel Pool in the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The Mountain Hawks won five of 16 events on the day, with a strong showing in the distance events, but fall to 7-3 on the season with the loss.

Mountain Hawks split their squads for pair of weekend meets
The Lehigh swimming and diving teams will split their squads this weekend to compete in two meets on Saturday. With the Patriot League Championships now just three weeks away, Lehigh’s top swimmers will compete in a dual meet at Drexel, while the rest of the Mountain Hawks will swim at the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Md.

Mountain Hawks continue strong work with SALSC
Lehigh student-athletes are continuing their strong work with Student-Athletes Leading Social Change (SALSC), highlighted by the third-annual “Jail Bail” Phone-A-Thon held last Friday (Jan. 20) in Taylor Gym. Angelo DiGiacinto (swimming) and Liz Lucas (softball) are this year’s leaders while a number of additional student-athletes are heavily involved as well.

Styles paces Lehigh against Bison on Senior Day
Senior Connor Styles swept the one and three meter diving events in his final home meet to lead Lehigh in its final home meet of the season Saturday against Bucknell. Despite a strong effort, those were the only two event wins for the Mountain Hawk men on the day as Bucknell prevailed 191-107 at Jacobs Pool, handing Lehigh its second straight loss and dropping the Mountain Hawks to 7-2 on the dual season.

Army hands Lehigh men first dual meet loss
The Lehigh men’s swimming and diving team suffered its first dual meet loss of the season Friday evening as the Mountain Hawks fell 167.5-127.5 to Army Friday night at Crandall Pool. The Mountain Hawks won five events and split top honors in a sixth, but Army continued its dominance of the all-time series, with the victory.

Mountain Hawks set to swim against Army Friday at West Point
After a strong showing against Marist last week to open 2012, the Lehigh swimming and diving teams take to the road Friday, heading to the Hudson Valley region of New York to swim against Patriot League rival Army. The Mountain Hawk men will put their undefeated record on the line against a tough Black Knight squad, while Lehigh’s women will look for their third straight win over Army.
