Lehigh swims past NJIT 142-63 in New Jersey
In its final action of the fall semester the Lehigh men’s swimming and diving team defeated NJIT 142-63 at the Fleisher Athletic Center. Senior Will Dearden and freshman Jacob Hassel were double winners on the day as the Mountain Hawks won eight of 11 events to head into the semester break at 3-1.

Four Mountain Hawks set to compete at USA Winter Nationals
Lehigh will send four swimmers to compete in the USA Swimming AT&T Winter National Championships hosted by the University of Texas. The event, which will be held at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center, is set to begin Thursday morning and will conclude on Saturday.

Mountain Hawks sweep Lafayette for fifth straight season
The Lehigh men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams used an impressive all-around effort, sweeping Lafayette on Friday for the fifth straight season. The men picked up a 172-126 win while the women were victorious, 169-125.

Mountain Hawks top Lafayette 172-126
The Lehigh men’s swimming and diving team put forth an impressive team effort to down Lafayette on Friday, 172-126. The Mountain Hawks used nine first-place finishes to come back from an early deficit and capture their ninth straight win over Lafayette.

Lehigh-Lafayette rivalry resumes in the pool Friday in Easton
In another tradition of Lehigh-Lafayette rivalry week will be renewed Friday night in Easton as the Lehigh swimming and diving teams will compete against Lafayette at 6 p.m. at Ruef Natatorium. The Mountain Hawks will be looking sweep their rivals for the fifth straight year. The meet will be just one of several competitions between the two schools this week, culminating in Saturday’s football game at Fisher Stadium.

Lehigh finishes up at Big Al Open in New Jersey
The Lehigh men’s swimming and diving team wrapped up action at the Big Al Open Saturday at Princeton’s DeNunzio Pool. Sophomore Danny Bennett led the Mountain Hawks in three individual events, while junior Chris Hoke and sophomore Sean Brant led the way for Lehigh in two events apiece as the Brown and White competed against Fordham, Georgetown, Princeton and TCNJ.

Karedis, sprinters pace Lehigh on day one at Big Al Invite
Lehigh’s sprinters led the way as the Mountain Hawks returned to action with a solid first day at the Big Al Invite Friday at Princeton’s DeNunzio pool. Junior Demetri Karedis defended his title in the 50 yard freestyle, leading a contingent of four Mountain Hawks who finished in the top ten of the event.

Mountain Hawks return to pool at Big Al Open in New Jersey
The Lehigh swimming and diving teams will head to New Jersey this weekend to compete in the Big Al Open Friday and Saturday at Princeton’s DeNunzio Pool. The Mountain Hawks will compete against Fordham, Georgetown, TCNJ and the host Tigers in what will be Lehigh’s first competition in two weeks.

Lehigh downs league rival Colgate for first win
The Lehigh men’s swimming and diving team picked up its first win of the dual season, downing host Colgate 88-23 Saturday at Lineberry Natatorium. Yale was also on hand competing as an exhibition, but the Mountain Hawks won 10 of the 13 events against the Raiders to even their season record at 1-1.

Mountain Hawks head to Colgate for first league meet
The Lehigh swimming and diving teams will compete in their second meet of the season when they travel to Hamilton, N.Y. Saturday to take on the Colgate Raiders. Both teams will look to bounce back from hard-fought losses in their season opening meets when they begin Patriot League competition against the Raiders. Yale will also compete in the event, but its swimmers will not count towards scoring.

Lehigh falls just short in season-opening loss to West Chester
The Lehigh men’s swimming and diving team came up four points short in its season opening meet with West Chester Friday night at Jacobs Pool. The Mountain Hawks won seven of 13 events, but a 31-5 edge on the diving boards propelled the visiting Golden Rams to a 122.5-118.5 win. Freshman Jacob Hassel won two individual events to lead the Mountain Hawks, while classmate Jeff Donovin had a first and a second for Lehigh, which opens at 0-1. West Chester moves to 3-0 on the season.

Mountain Hawks set to dive into new season beginning Friday
The Lehigh swimming and diving teams will open the 2012-13 season on Friday with a home meet against West Chester at Jacobs Pool. The Mountain Hawks will be looking to build on last season’s momentum after the men finished fourth and the women fifth at the Patriot League Championships.

Lehigh Lights the Night in support of swimming alumna Jill Rann
This past Saturday, October 13 marked another wonderful year to celebrate the health and prosperity of former Lehigh swimmer Jill Rann ’12. Members of the Lehigh swimming and diving program joined Rann and her family at the annual Light the Night Walk at Northampton Community College.

Mountain Hawks picked fourth in PL men's swimming and diving poll
The Mountain Hawks will look to build off of last year’s momentum heading into the 2012-2013 season, as Patriot League preseason polls were announced on Wednesday. Lehigh was predicted to finish fourth, finishing the voting with 63 points in the poll, which was voted on by the league’s coaches and Sports information directors.

Lehigh swimmers and divers fight breast cancer in NYC
The Lehigh swimming and diving team helped fight breast cancer by running in the Susan G. Komen 5k Greater New York City Race for the Cure, Sunday September 9 in Central Park. The Mountain Hawks’ sixth straight year of participating in the event saw 50 swimmers and divers plus alumni and family members run.

Herb welcomes 12 newcomers to swimming and diving program
As the Lehigh swimming and diving team returns to campus and begins preparations for the 2012-13 season, head coach Rob Herb has announced the addition of 13 student-athletes who will join the Mountain Hawks program. Herb has bolstered his women’s roster with eight freshmen, while the men welcome four freshmen plus one transfer, who is already familiar with the Mountain Hawks’ program.

Mountain Hawks place 12 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll
Lehigh’s men’s swimming and diving team posted 12 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll as the league announced its men’s winter/spring honor roll lists on Tuesday. To be eligible for the honor roll, the student-athlete must have a 3.20 or higher grade point average during the academic semester which coincides with his or her sport.

Lehigh holds annual Hall of Fame induction banquet and ceremony
Lehigh held its annual Roger S. Penske/Lehigh Athletics Hall Fame banquet and induction ceremony on Saturday April 28, 2012 on the university’s Asa Packer Campus. Volleyball standout Kim (Freedman) Kellow ’99 was inducted following her election in the class of 2011, while former swimming and diving coach and director of admissions Bruce Gardiner and University Board of Trustees Chairman and former lacrosse student-athlete Dan Smith ’71 were inducted as part of a special election process.
