The Mountain Hawks find themselves in elite company, only behind the Final Four teams of 2012: Loyola, Maryland, Duke and Notre Dame. In its first-ever NCAA Tournament, Lehigh hung neck-and-neck before dropping a 10-9 heartbreaker to eventual National Finalist Maryland. The Terrapins went on to beat Johns Hopkins and Duke in convincing fashion (11-5 and 16-10) to advance to the Championship Game.
The 2012 season saw Lehigh beat three NCAA Tournament teams: then #4 North Carolina, Ivy League Champion Yale and a Colgate squad which ended UMass’ perfect season in the NCAA Tournament. The Mountain Hawks also topped the same Penn State team that defeated Final Four participant Notre Dame.
