BETHLEHEM, Pa. - With Navy and Lafayette both losing on Saturday, the Lehigh men’s lacrosse team has officially clinched its first Patriot League Tournament berth since 2006. No matter what happens in Lehigh’s (6-7, 2-3 PL) regular season finale against the Leopards, the Mountain Hawks will be the No. 4 seed in the tournament, which begins on Apr. 29 at the league’s regular season champion.
Army’s win over Navy means the Black Knights are locked into the third seed. Lehigh will face the winner of next week’s Bucknell at Colgate game in the Patriot League Semifinals. That winner will be the Patriot League Regular Season Champion, garnering the No. 1 seed and the right to host the entire tournament.
The Mountain Hawks continue their string of home games when they welcome No. 9 North Carolina for a special 12 p.m. faceoff on Sunday in Goodman Stadium. Tickets are only $5 for the general public while seniors, groups and Lehigh students are only $3. Tickets may be purchased on Lehighsports.com or by calling 610-7LU-GAME. The UNC showdown will also air nationally on the CBS Sports Network with Dave Ryan and Matt Danowski calling the action.
Lehigh then wraps up the regular season against archrival Lafayette next Saturday (Apr. 23) at 7 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
